I’ve been saying this for years!!! but I’ll say it again 😌yogic breathwork really is the key to radiant and healthy skin.

The science shows that when you focus on your deep belly breaths you stimulate your parasympathetic nervous system, which brings in relaxation and keeps your cortisol levels low. As we know! stress + inflammation in the body causes skin conditions and breakouts so anything that’s gonna make you more relaxed is gonna help your skin. I promise.

I’ve been in that loop of stress - more spots - more stress - more spots. To break out of this pattern, get to the root of it and bring the body into balance through yogic breathing.

Being a mum you need those non negotiable daily rituals. These are mine that make me feel the most well nourished and well resourced…

- humming / singing whilst doing the dishes
- long hugs
- bare feet in the ground
- breathing deeply and slowly throughout the day
- asking for and accepting help all the time
- always giving thanks for the big + the small things 🌻

For the past 2 years of breastfeeding I gave myself full permission to eat all the sugary treats (and pretty much everything else 😂) it was fun whilst it lasted but now I’m starting to prepare for pregnancy again I’ve been more intentional about my sweet treats and enjoying baking these 3 favourites, even though they take some good time to make and only seconds to enjoy!!

The Tahini cookies are so moreish, thank you @ritualsbyrosena for the recipe and for baking them during early PP days for me. Got me hooked in the best way 😘

This is the hill I’m living on…

Ive had few people (guys) tell me that fiction is just for entertainment! So sad that they are missing out on the magic of stories. With my son I’ll be making sure he values a novel just as much or more than non fiction.
Because the good stories that I have read, have shaped and questioned my world views over and over again. I’ve read stories that have me thinking about the characters and the challenges in their lives days after I’ve finished the book. Self development books are good but they’re not the page turners that keep you up to all hours of night even when you know you’ve gotta wake up early the next day 🙈 Stories make you feel something, they will have you crying over words, eyes blurry, pages wet and having to pause with the book pressed to your heart before you read on. Stories are portals, they build vivid worlds in your mind, taking you to far away places without you having left your seat. This is more than entertainment. These self help books alone are simply not enough. Keep making space for the good stories.
