For more than 20 years, tremors slowly took pieces of Mike Bachel’s everyday life.
At 71, this Air Force veteran, full‑time program manager and lifelong maker knows the frustration well — from struggling to type on his phone to stepping away from a workshop that once fueled his passion for building and restoring antique cars.
Medications helped for a while. Then they didn’t.
After years of living with worsening tremors, Mike was referred to neurosurgeon Dr. Charles Munyon to explore advanced treatment options. Today, as Novant Health’s 800th INSIGHTEC patient, Mike is looking forward to steadier hands and the chance to safely return to the things he loves most: fishing, target shooting and creating again.
This is what personalized care looks like — meeting patients where they are and helping them move forward.
Fueling champions starts at home. 🏁
For @tsrsmoke and @leah.pruett, that means starting early with their son — building healthy habits through everyday moments. And with guidance from Novant Health registered dietitian Kelly Homesley, getting kids involved in healthy eating is the real game changer:
✔️ Let them pick fruits and veggies
✔️ Have them help cook meals
✔️ Make it fun (build-your-own pizza with hidden veggies = win)
✔️ Keep it pressure-free
✔️ Show them how food fuels their body
Because when kids help make it—they’re more excited to eat it.

All her life, Caitlin Creech dreamed of becoming a mother, but she would soon learn that her journey would be anything but simple.
Caitlin and her husband, Matt experienced years of heartbreak, including multiple miscarriages, failed fertility treatments and a diagnosis of antiphospholipid syndrome. Through it all, they were supported by their compassionate care team at Novant Health and by an extraordinary act of love from Caitlin’s best friend, Heather.
Heather offered to become their surrogate. Just as that journey began, the unexpected happened: Caitlin became pregnant on her own.
With two pregnancies unfolding at once, Caitlin faced a life-threatening complication and delivered her daughter, Scarlett, at just 26 weeks, where she spent months fighting in the Novant Health Hemby Children’s Hospital NICU. Meanwhile, Heather carried and delivered their second daughter, Sloane, to full-term.
Today, both girls are thriving.
This is a story of resilience, friendship and how love and support can carry you through even the hardest moments. #MothersDay

You may remember Angelica May Watkins when we shared her story of facing breast cancer with courage. She received expert care from the team at Novant Health Zimmer Cancer Institute, who guided her through 16 rounds of chemotherapy and supported her every step of the way. After ringing the bell to mark the completion of her treatment in March 2024, she was surprised with a marriage proposal from her now husband.
Today, Angelica is thriving — and celebrating a beautiful new chapter. In December 2025, she delivered a healthy baby boy, Israel Sayvor Watkins, at Novant Health Betty H. Cameron Women’s and Children’s Hospital.
This Mother’s Day is especially meaningful for Angelica. She will celebrate with the miracle in her arms.
“Becoming his mom has changed my life in the most beautiful way, filling my heart with a kind of joy and purpose I never knew existed. My miracle baby is my greatest blessing, and I will cherish every moment of this journey with him forever.”
Join us as we celebrate Angelica’s journey and honor all moms whose love, resilience and strength inspire us every day. 💜

You may have seen recent headlines about Hantavirus and the international outbreak tied to the Andes strain — but what exactly is it, and should you be concerned?
Hantavirus is a rare illness that can cause severe respiratory symptoms and, in some cases, be fatal. Most cases are linked to exposure to rodent droppings, urine or bites. What makes the Andes strain different: it has the potential for person-to-person spread, unlike most forms of Hantavirus. Officials have confirmed multiple cases connected to the outbreak, which is why awareness and precautions matter.
The good news: this is still considered a very rare illness and not something people typically contract through normal day-to-day outdoor activities. Pediatric infectious disease specialist Dr. Nazario Rivera-Chaparro shares precautions you can take:
✔️ Avoid contact with rodents and rodent droppings.
✔️Use caution when cleaning areas with rodent infestation.
✔️Wash your hands thoroughly.
✔️Consider wearing a mask when cleaning enclosed spaces with possible rodent exposure.

At her heaviest, Rena Kratkys weighed more than 380 pounds, was living with Type 2 diabetes and arthritis and relied on a walker to get around.
Her weight made it unsafe to undergo the knee replacement she needed, leaving her stuck in a cycle where pain limited movement and prevented weight loss.
With the support of Dr. Neil McDevitt, she committed to a comprehensive bariatric program that addressed both her physical and emotional health, helping her to lose nearly 200 pounds and safely have knee replacement surgery – a critical step in regaining her mobility and independence.
Today, Rena feels as though she’s been given a true second shot at life. She’s building strength on the walking track and looking forward to hiking with her grandkids — something that once felt out of reach.

After becoming a mom, Adrianna White saw healthcare through a different lens and found her passion in supporting women through high-risk pregnancies.
In her role as a maternity clinical services navigator, she helps patients navigate one of the most emotional and uncertain times in their lives—not just with clinical expertise, but with compassion and connection.
“The most rewarding part is watching my patients become strong self-advocates.”
Through listening, support and even role-playing tough conversations, she empowers patients to speak up, ask questions and feel confident in their care. Because high-risk pregnancy care isn’t just medical—it’s emotional, too. And no one should go through it alone. #NursesWeek

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
