Chado (also known as the way of tea) is founded on four key principles attributed to the 16th century tea master Sen Rikyu.

Practitioners integrate these principles into their daily lives outside of the tea room as follows :)

Wa: living harmoniously with each other, but also with nature - being moveable, flexible, changeable.

Kei: having respect for the process. An unassuming pride in the practice

Sei: a purity of mind and spirit

Jaku: this cannot be attained without putting the other principles into practice.It’s probably the hardest as it requires a high level of discipline to embody tranquility both within and outside of your practice.

🌱COCONUT MATCHA LATTE

INSTRUCTIONS:

250ml coconut milk* (1 cup)
40ml water (2 and 1/2 tablespoons)
1/2 teaspoon matcha
honey to taste..

🌱Heat the coconut milk and froth until creamy (either with a milk frother or in a mixer).

🌱Then heat the water to 60-70C (140-160F). If you don’t have an electric kettle with adjustable temperature, bring water to a boil and let it cool for 5 minutes
..

🌱Sift the matcha into a bowl and add the warm water. Whisk together until no lumps remain with a bamboo brush or handheld milk frother for about 2 minutes. Then stir in the honey.

🌱Pour the matcha tea into a mug, add the warm coconut milk and enjoy.
