We are looking for beginning, first-generation, military veterans, & other historically underserved farmers & ranchers from IL, IA, MO, & WI.Participants will eligible for $250-$500 micro grants to support their own #conservation & #regenerativeagriculture efforts.

WLA’s Landowner Investment Survey shows that many of these kinds of conservation efforts are led (and often funded) by landowners themselves. Recognition like this helps make that work more visible.

This year’s finalists include:
• The Barthelmess Family of Barthelmess Ranch, Malta (Phillips County)
• The Groeneweg Family of Living Sky Grains,Three Forks (Broadwater and Jefferson counties)
• The Veseth Family of Veseth Ranch, Malta (Phillips County)

Across Montana, these finalists reflect the kind of place-based management that sustains both livelihoods and landscapes.

We’ll be highlighting more about each of these families in the coming months.
