I had really found a haunting connection to this experience as a whole. I’ve always been intrigued by architecture and my parents influence of their architecture studies and work have constantly activated a curiosity of the subliminal effects of design both effective and ineffective. The @nmaahc is a rare space where the subject matter , the layout and the effect all truly work together to force you to feel the space you’re in. Architect Daniel Adjaye and his team curated the truth to new levels with this space.

i am always questioning where we are going as a people. although I haven’t lived long, I have seen and felt more life than I feel my age has reflected. for me, i see people living in worlds everyday that are beyond the present. They exceed all idea of time, where humans are headed in a peaceful and a growing sense. this doesn’t mean it represents the world, but a vision of the highest form we can currently be capable of. the black hole has been a boundless journey of curiosity for me the past three years. More to come from this, more showings and more conversations to be had with strangers and family. thank everyone for the support.

first piano session for the score of the rods and cones video.

I wanted to create a structure less feeling of frequencies. I also was restricted to playing piano because of my broken wrist at the time. I found a different way to play with those limitations. Watching how Alice Coltrane plays the harp is how I like to play the piano.

Photoreceptors within the human eye. Rods receive signals of low light, cones receive high light signals and process most of the color an eye can see.

This is a photobook, a precursor to a larger story im crafting and writing.

This experience all formed in one moment with my friend Osiris. Osiris and I are always enamored with light and the sun. We were observing the way the sunlight was painting a beautiful silhouette of the trees moving in the wind on a wall. Minutes later I started walking away, telling him we had to leave, i saw something in his glasses. In that genuine moment, i saw my interpretation of Osiris's perspective, and got to feel what he witnessed in that moment. This is the closest I could’ve gotten to recreating those memories and pictures with Osiris that day. This is collaboration. Thank you Osiris @maybe_osiris

This is a story of observation. When we slow time down, the truth comes flooding back to us.
This truth is the inner child.

All funds from this book will be allocated to my next short film project title "Heliophelia," (a distinctive adaptation with sunlight.) The story is the most personal story i have ever worked on, i'm bearing so much of my childhood in the upcoming project. rods and cones is a small precursor to a larger series of short videos that will sum up to the project.
