A.MAL Art + Research
Exploring ecology, migration and globalization through speculative art and research projects 🔷

Looking back at 3oubour on our camera roll 📸
Our research table, which held tools, books, and WIP of the artists to help us get into their heads and ideas a little bit, with a film of our time in Fes projected behind, where people sat and read, wrote notes and played with objects left for them.
Also featured are shots from @mehdiouah's talk with young people of @natsatclub , the sculptural and sonic works from @nabil_himich , @aliahamaoui projection installation, zelige work from @monya.riachi , Mehdi's donkey collages as well as the gorgeous @hamza_bouzhar and @cldhoney who performed at our closing event.

2 DAYS LEFT TO VISIT 3OUBOUR!
Don't miss your chance to see the exhibition created by this dream team ✨
3oubour is an act of crossing — a passage between practices and knowledges from different shores. This exhibition challenges fixed boundaries between art and craft, creation and transmission, innovation and tradition, showcasing new works created during the 3oubour residency which ran in Fes, Morocco throughout September.
You can visit @craftscouncil today and Saturday from 11am-5pm and don't forget we also have a special treat for you to close the show on Saturday night!
During the residency in Fes, music played a central role. Whether echoing from the Zawiyas we walked by, or hummed around the table after dinner, sharing songs was a way of connecting to landscapes and histories.
In honour of this tradition, on Saturday night, the gallery will be open late for your viewing pleasure. It will be filled with sound, starting with a workshop at 5.30pm, followed by performances by Sara Rahman and sufi singer Hamza Bouzhar. Reserve your free spot at our Sawt Al Layla via our link in bio and we'll see you there!

ARTIST Q&A WITH NABIL HIMICH / 3OUBOUR PANEL SWITCH-UP
Like a river, this project has had ebbs and flows of smoothness and some unexpected (but unsurprising) obstacles, which have then changed the landscape of 3OUBOUR. Two of the sculptural pieces made by Nabil Himich failed to reach us in London due to being held at customs. Our Moroccan partners expected to attend the panel did not get their visa outcome in time, and therefore cannot travel to be with us.
In response to these events that are indicative of the beaurocracy and rigid parameters which international artists have to navigate, our first panel discussion will now be a conversation between Nabil Himich and Seif El Rachidi of the Barakat Trust.
For 3OUBOUR, Nabil expanded on his ongoing project dis-enclosure, exploring the delirium that exists when dancing the line between homeness and strandedness, and the possibilities that exist in the metaphor of a house with no doors or windows. He explores the form of sonic fields beholden in sculptural enclosures, dialoguing with Moorish architectural features. The work deals with the concept of remaining in the face of migration, questioning the resolve required to stay. The ironic turn of his sculptures being held at the border is not lost on him...
Seif El Rashidi is an architectural historian with 20 years of expertise working on heritage preservation and managing projects related to promoting public engagement with heritage and culture.
Come to @craftscouncil this Saturday 15 November to explore 3OUBOUR, hear more about Nabil’s work and how it relates to craft, Islamic arts and the realities of the current climate.

What does it mean to carry centuries of craft into a future shaped by technology? 3oubour: A River Between Mountains traces that question through the work of Moroccan and other Arab artists, where sound, sculpture, and digital play collide. From Fes to London, this exhibition, brought together by The Arab British Centre, A.MAL Projects, and Takafes, moves between inherited knowledge and imagined possibilities.
With the technical brilliance of Younes El Hossaini and the curatorial vision of Mohammed Hamdouni, Jessica El Mal and Eloise Sacher, each work becomes a dialogue between the organic and the conceptual, a meditation on place, memory, and innovation.

3OUBOUR PRESENTS SAWT AL LAYLA. A NIGHT OF SOUND AT CRAFTS COUNCIL GALLERY
During the residency in Fes, music played a central role. Whether echoing from the Zawiyas we walked by, or hummed around the table after dinner, sharing songs was a way of connecting to landscapes and histories.
To honour this tradition, we invite you to share with us a night of sound at @craftscouncil. From 5pm, the gallery will be open late for you to wander the main exhibtion. Sound will become the focus of the evening, with a singing workshop led by Fatima Lahham, a sonic performance by Sara Rahman, and some Sufi singing by Hamza Bouzhar thereafter.
@fictionalfatima is a London-based recorder player, vocalist and improviser. Her heritage embraces Jabal Qasiyun in Damascus and the Cherwell river in Oxford amongst other rivers and mountains. Fatima’s work brings people together through listening, voice and improvisation.
@cldhoney Sara Rahman (Sarah Ourahmane) is a British Algerian musician, composer, sound-artist and researcher. Her practice spans classical contemporary composition, electronic music, performance, and improvisation as a vocalist and cellist. Engaging with the intersections of sonic anthropology, research and performance, she explores the gaps between tradition and ritual in authoritarianism contexts.
@hamza_bouzhar is a Moroccan artist, Sufi singer and composer and the recipient of numerous individual and collective awards for his music in Morocco. His music is deeply rooted in Moroccan and Amazigh traditions, and has been honed through singing in school and festivals internationally.

Some snippets from the install of the 3oubour show in Fes. The exhibition took place in an old workshop located on number 204 on a narrow street in the medina. Together with our small team, we had just a few days to transform the workshop into Studio 204.
I want to thank Mohammed, Karin & Ahmed for their massive help in installing the show.
It is a true pleasure to work with all participating artists on the Morocco and UK leg of 3oubour: @monya.riachi , @aliahamaoui , @dimasrouji , @imane.elkabli_ , @aidajamalll , @lorikharp , @mehdiouah & @nabil_himich
See you soon in London !

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
