Alameda County Voters! It’s time to vote in the upcoming June 2, 2026, Statewide Direct Primary Election.

Starting today, all registered voters will be mailed their Vote by Mail ballot and will be able to vote early at one of our 24-Hour Official Ballot Drop Boxes. Make sure to look at some of the important dates and make sure your voter registration is up-to-date.

What is a Voter Information Guide (VIG)?

A Voter Information Guide is a pamphlet sent out by election offices before each election. They are filled with crucial information for voters, such as what’s on the ballot, where vote centers are, and important dates for that specific election. We encourage all voters to carefully review the VIG and store it in a safe place until you’re ready to vote. All ballots must be submitted via Official Ballot Drop Box, by mail, or at a vote center no later than 8:00 p.m. on Election Day. If you vote by mail, it must be postmarked by that deadline, so get it in early!

It's High School Voter Education Weeks! This annual celebration is meant to teach our youth more about the election process and show them ways they can contribute even as a student.

Did you know? Oakland, Berkeley, and Albany have youth voting! 16-17 year olds can vote in school board related elections.

All Alameda County youth can pre-register at 16, and be automatically registered when they turn 18. Make sure to tell the young people in your life to pre-register so they can be prepared for their civic duty.

Not only can youth pre-register, but they can also work as a high school poll worker. It's an amazing opportunity to gain job experience, learn about elections, and earn up to $535!

Today we celebrate the retirement of our Registrar of Voters, Tim Dupuis. He joined Alameda County in 2000 and has spent 26 years serving the public with integrity, transparency, and dedication. In 2013 he was appointed as both the Director of the Information Technology Department and Registrar of Voters. In these roles, he has led countless elections, implemented an entirely new voting system, and transitioned our county to the Voter’s Choice Act model to ensure accessibility for thousands of voters. The Registrar of Voters department will remember his contributions with immense gratitude and pride, and we sincerely congratulate his hard-earned retirement.
