This a combination of my worlds mixed together. And I thank and love all of the aforementioned.

Be me, jog 40km first day, drink copious amounts of super bock with locals to the setting sun. Spend day 2 on dire straights, vomiting in bushes, as old Irish women fly past at country road speeds. The hare demolished by the tortoise of life.

Pain gently soothed my random old Portuguese men doing random old things.

Might be selfish, but I grieve the loss of future memories, the could have beens.
I lost you in my bewildered years. Where I was too young, and still am, to process your journey to death. To passing on.
I pretended it was never going to happen, why wouldn’t I? I couldn’t lose you.

I sit on stones in Sitges.
Staring straight into the sparkle of the low sun.
Reflections and waves dashing by.
Reflections blurred by reflective tears.

I imagine you visiting me here.
Bickering in a terrace.
Visiting you every time I fly home.

Dunhill isn’t the same with you. Even though
you lay there resting, overlooking the valley.
