Fast and redemptive unmedicated birth of our son 🤍 Total hours of labor was about 5 hours from the start of my first contraction. This birth was everything we had prayed for and we are so thankful to welcome our healthy baby boy. We were home before the sun was up to introduce him to his big sister, Capri.

Sharing my story to encourage any pregnant mamas who want to have a peaceful and unmedicated birth. I watched so many positive birth stories when I was pregnant just hoping I could also experience this. The most surreal, difficult and beautiful thing I’ve ever done and it was so worth it for my babies.

Unmedicated labor tips:
-surrendering to the waves and relaxing through every contraction. The more I would tense the harder it was towork through it
-Christian Hypnobirthing and visualizations
-An amazing and supportive birth team
-Not being afraid of the pressure and not fighting it but allowing my body to do what it knows how to do
-Being in a peaceful and comfortable environment the entire time. Dim lighting, my own playlist, affirmations and encouragement from my husband and midwife

I’ve been on a journey of intentionally slowing down every single day and life feels so different now for myself but also for them 💛

Motherhood is busy, messy, JOYFUL but I’ve learned one thing forsure is that it does not have to feel like chaos all the time if you mindfully shift your perspective and slow way down.

Where to start:
1. Make a list of things you can do to slow down when you’re feeling like you’re rushing and stressing. Some things in my list: creating a slow calming playlist to play during the day, putting my phone on do not disturb, sitting down and doing a non messy craft with the kids
2. Intentionally practice shifting your mindset by noticing anytime your rushing through something and stop for a second to breath and then restart what you were doing
3. Try to check off your list throughout the day and keep on moving. For example, I no longer save laundry or home tasks for after bedtime I do everything with my kids present and it might take a little longer but at least I can move slower and not have a list of to do’s I need to get through as fast as possible after bedtime

15 Minute Chicken Alfredo from our home to yours 🏠❤️🍝 Save the recipe below to make this week!

-Season chicken thighs generously with salt, basil, oregano, thyme, paprika and olive oil. Or an Italian pre mixed seasoning if you have that on hand! Set aside to marinate or make right away
-Oven bake at 425 degrees until internal temp reaches 165 or cook on cast iron on high heat which is my preferred method
-While your chicken cooks make your sauce by adding 1 1/2 cups of heavy cream and 2 tbs of butter to a pan. Melt and cook until steamy about 5 minutes
-Then, add 1 cup of fresh Parmesan, a pinch of salt and pepper, and 2 cloves of garlic minced to your sauce -Cook on medium low and stirring occasionally until the sauce starts to thicken and come apart on your pan when sliding the spoon across. It will thicken even more when cooled slightly
-Make your pasta of choice and add sauce to the top of your sliced chicken thighs. Top with fresh Italian parsley Enjoy!

-Fresh parmesan
-1 pint of heavy cream
-Fresh garlic
-Fresh Italian parsley
-Italian seasoning (see my mix above)
-Fettuccine Pasta
-Chicken thighs
-Olive oil
