At the Met Gala carpet on Monday night, the answers to “Who are you wearing?” included Yves Saint Laurent, Chanel, and Prada. At least one could have also been OxiClean, the laundry brand, whose team sent out a press release noting that Camila Mendes' makeup artist had its stain pen on hand in case any mascara or blush smeared onto her couture gown.

We've entered the final-boss level of the red carpet economy. Once reserved for hair, makeup, and nail brands, editors are now getting post-event pitches for specific nail clippers, hair brushes, boob tape, colostrum supplements, and THC beverages purporting to have played a crucial part in the star's beauty looks.

"The curious case of red-carpet rando brands comes into focus when you look at the new squeeze on working makeup artists, especially those in Hollywood and New York," writes @farankrentcil.
