Here’s my latest commission all finished & ready to install.

It’s going on a pantry floor, so it’s made using the paper-backed method. That means it’s layed temporarily onto paper in reverse, then when it’s installed it’s flipped over. Always nerve wracking as installation is fiddly, and you can’t tell what it looks like from the front, but if the back looks good that’s generally a good sign.

The ‘Unswept Floor’ is a classic Roman design (there are four surviving pavements like it) and was meant to look like food discarded across the floor after a Dionysian feast. When my client said this was going in a pantry, and gave me free rein on design, I know it was the perfect chance to make my own version. I’ve gone classic aesthetic with modern day references 🍰

I’ll be installing it myself (😬) in a few weeks so wish me luck 🤞

I finally installed this floral mosaic at the weekend, with the help of maestro @giulia_vogrig

It's a vestibule mosaic, sitting just inside the front door of a newly renovated home which was once part of Middlesex Hospital in Fitzrovia.

The clients wanted the mosaic to represent their families mixed heritage. We've got French lavender, a Bulgarian rose, and a Californian sequoia pine cone, with blue forget-me-nots as a nod to the buildings past life as a hospital, and lychees as the clients drank lychee Martinis on their first date.
