Amy Lee Ketchum
Artist / animator / coffee / based between Philly and LA

Join us for the opening (11/13) and artist walk through (11/15) of Other Home, a dual exhibition at Tiger Strikes Asteroid where Amy Lee Ketchum and Ana Carolina Estarita-Guerrero use animation and installation to dig into what home means when you're caught between cultures. Lee Ketchum connects Chinese folklore about sun crows to lanternflies and invasive species rhetoric, and what that says about how we talk about immigrants. Estarita-Guerrero creates spatial paradoxes in her installation that mirror the impossible distances of displacement. During the walkthrough the artists will talk about their process and you'll get behind-the-scenes looks at how these animated worlds were made. Come see how two artists are wrestling with belonging, loss, and the homes we have to keep reinventing.
Installation view of Amy's terrariums in front and Ana's objects and installations behind.

Missing Ben Pearson today. This doesn’t look anything like Kiersten and Ben but it was made with so much love for these two dear friends. We are in New Orleans today to celebrate him with Kiersten and their community. Miss you so much Ben Pearson.
Ode to mama birds feeding their babies ❤️ My friend Christina sent me a photo of a mommy and baby bird having breakfast for my Polaroid Project. I have also been really lucky to have a robin family living on my back porch. It really does bring so much joy to watch animals take care of each other!
Well said, Talking Heads.
“Letting the days go by, let the water hold me down
Letting the days go by, water flowing underground
Into the blue again, after the money’s gone
Once in a lifetime, water flowing underground.”
Thanks to my friend Shyam from Berkeley days for the reference video with Talking Heads soundtrack. I’m currently working on a set of Polaroids with the idea of care-giving in mind: healthcare, childcare, loving care, self-care…

Lanterns, my ongoing current labor of love opened this week at the Freedman Gallery at Albright College in Reading PA. I was so excited when curator @lindseyjancay invited me to this show, because I get to show my Reading Pagoda screen print in Reading.

My homage to the Reading Pagoda is going to Reading this week for a show at Albright College! I made the first version last year with 4 colors and smudges everywhere and was so unsatisfied that I went overboard and created a 22 color print with the help of an expert printer. Infinite gratitude to the amazing Nastassia Sharanhovich @hellcat.jpg_ one of my first PAFA students for screen printing so impeccably!! My favorite part is the cloud gradient.

Two years ago today, the intertribal dance company, Indigenous Enterprise debuted at the Joyce Theater. Before each dancer took to the stage, an animated dance origin story preceded them. @KennethShirley, the ebullient director of the dance company approached the always amazing, Stephanie Gumpel @move_like_magic to make these stories come to life. I was lucky to have Stephanie invite me to co-direct these beautiful films with her.
Together with an incredible team of artists we poured our hearts into animating 7 stories in 3 months. We had the feeling that what we were making was deeply important and bigger than ourselves. It was once illegal to share these stories and to dance these dances, and now we can celebrate them.
Please enjoy and share with your friends and community, "Origins: Seven Indigenous Dances" (link in bio).
P.S. Thank you @scribevideocenter for the much needed finishing funds.

My Chinoiserie opens this week at the Llewellyn Gallery at Alfred State College. I am so grateful to @jenniethwing for giving me the opportunity to develop this body of work. I’m still tired and emotional reflecting on this past year of artmaking . Without the inimitable @jacinthakruc the exhibition installation would not have been possible. I would still be sitting on the floor in a pile of bubble wrap…

It's a wrap! Two risograph-embroideries hung out with each other throughout May and June 2023 at the Constellations @Tsaphilly show hosted by Vox Populi. I designed the concept for the lanternfly piece, while Sante designed the bird one.
For this collaboration Sante @sante_artxstitch.art and I created a diptych of embroidered risographs inspired by chinoiserie and Asian art. One depicts lanternflies and points to the stomping campaigns, the other is a bird based on a chinoiserie textile and alludes to silk production. They explore the lives of insects while understanding and intensely observing the web of being in the human identity through movement and actions.

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
