Morro Bay has such a mix of identifying landmarks, that cool footage is hard not to get. Obviously, Morro Rock makes a compelling backdrop for almost any picture may feature its majestic vibes.Having said that, I make it a priority shooting the Stacks whenever I can. These iconic landmarks are something that I enjoy, but there are many that look forward to them being removed in the next few years. That will likely be a sad day for me. Something about heading northbound on HWY 1 and that moment when the stacks and their red flashing lights being silhouetted by a gorgeous fiery sunset makes me feel at home.

USAV Yaquina is a hopper dredge of the United States Army Corps of Engineers. Her primary mission is to maintain the entrance bars, rivers, and harbors along the coasts of California, Oregon, and Washington. She is assigned to the Portland District of the Army Corps of Engineers. Her homeport is Portland, Oregon. She was launched in 1980 and remains in service.

The people of @operationsurf are the lifeblood of the mission. Through connection and the constant thought of others, the mission is to channel the healing powers of the ocean to restore hope, renew purpose, and revitalize community. Our program in Santa Cruz 2024 was incredibly special and one I won’t soon forget.
