The pre-launch of Icarus, rapper BK’s new album, is a reinterpretation of the ancient Greek myth. In this update version, the metropolis becomes the stage of modern tragedies, and the fall is caused not by the sunlight, but by the artificial city lights. One of the album’s tracks was embedded in a 2m x 2m oil painting immortalized by the contemporary artist Nikolas Demurtas. By pointing your phone to the canvas, the painting comes to life through WebAR and it’s possible to see and listen to BK’ sing an unreleased song from the album for the first time.
Over 6000 visitors were mesmerized during the three-day exhibition at the Art Museum of Rio de Janeiro.
This collaboration secured a Bronze award in Design and was shortlisted in the Music for Entertainment > Emerging Tech category in Cannes Lions 2023.
