Judging a Book by its Cover

This project explores how redesigning Arab scholarly book covers, especially legal and academic texts, can make them feel more approachable, modern, and engaging for today’s readers. Across the Arab world, many of these covers still rely on rigid layouts, muted colors, and dense typography, which can make them feel distant or intimidating. By developing a contemporary visual system, this project aims to improve readability, accessibility, and reader connection while still preserving the cultural and intellectual value of Arab scholarship for future generations.

The Speculative Cookbook

A speculative cookbook disguised as a manifesto, envisioning how food in 2075 Egypt is manufactured, adapted, and recooked under specific conditions, pressures, and motives.

The 2075 Cookbook is a speculative cookbook disguised as a manifesto, set in a future Egypt where familiar food traditions are reimagined through newly created products, altered recipes, and designed systems of consumption. Built around the idea that food does not change randomly, but is shaped by certain motives such as desire and control, as well as conditions like scarcity and ecological collapse, the cookbook explores how these forces transform what we eat, how we prepare it, and why it is made in the first place. By imagining future dishes and products, it offers a glimpse into what Egyptians might be eating in 2075, while questioning how far food can be manipulated when necessity, technology, and power begin to rewrite the kitchen, transforming it into something entirely new.

The Stories of Egyptian Bread

A series of nine infographic posters that preserve traditional Egyptian bread recipes through the visual narration of their ingredients, tools, and baking processes.

The Stories of Egyptian Bread is a series of nine infographic posters that preserves traditional Egyptian bread recipes so they are not lost over time. Drawing from fieldwork across Cairo, Sharqia, Luxor, Aswan, and Menoufeya, the project documents the ingredients, tools, local vocabulary, and step by step methods behind each bread type. Each poster transforms the act of baking into a visual story, revealing how bread carries memory, identity, and cultural meaning across Egypt’s regions. By presenting these recipes through illustration and infographic design, the project turns lived knowledge into a form that can be seen, remembered, and passed on.

By presenting these recipes through illustration and infographic design, the project turns lived knowledge into a form that can be seen, remembered, and passed on.

Adyghe اديغة

A multimedia graphic novel tracing Circassian roots, resilience, and transformation to mamluks across displacement, memory, and history.

Adyghe is an Arabic graphic novel exploring the journey of Circassian people from their forced displacement around 1405 to their transformation into Mamluks in Egypt. Through illustrated storytelling, it highlights themes of displacement, identity, and cultural adaptation. A parallel narrative follows a Circassian-descended character in the 19th century under Ottoman rule, culminating in the Citadel massacre. The project utilizes illustrated maps and a set of cards that expand the narrative visually and contextually. A digital version of the novel incorporates sound design, creating an immersive, multi-sensory experience that brings historical events and cultural heritage to life through contemporary visual language.

العديد : مراثي للموتى Al-ʿAdīd: Laments for the Dead

An illustrated publication of Al-ʿAdīd lament poems that visualizes their metaphors to reframe the tradition, highlighting its poetic depth and challenging its stigma while preserving its cultural essence.

This project represents Al-ʿAdīd, an oral poetic funeral tradition from Upper Egypt, as a significant cultural artifact. Its poems are not merely rhythmic expressions of grief; they are symbolic texts that help the community grieve and honor the deceased’s life. Through an illustrated publication, the work visualizes this symbolic language and challenges the negative stigma that frames it as a “backward” tradition. The publication organizes the laments into four personas, showing how imagery adapts to each social role. By decoding these verses, the project allows this vanishing heritage to be understood through a contemporary lens and reconnects new audiences with it.

Unpacking Egyptian Racism
Tracing how racist language in Egypt is normalized through media, and how exposing the narrative can challenge it.

This project explores how racist language in Egyptian society has been normalized through history, media, and everyday speech. Tracing its roots in colonialism, Egyptology, and early advertising, it examines how racial hierarchies were constructed and internalized. The project translates this research into a three-part animated series addressing historical foundations, media representation, and lived experiences. Through archival visuals, film analysis, and a typographic language system, it reveals how jokes and slang carry hidden prejudice. It also proposes a language repair guide, demonstrating how design can challenge harmful narratives and reposition language as a tool for awareness, reflection, and social change

“Labayt” is a collection of Hajj certificate posters that narrate the journey of Hajj through different interpretive perspectives, while shedding light on the forgotten tradition of Hajj certification.

The project is a tribute to the glorification of Hajj and an ancestral legacy of Tiwafa — bringing to light the lost tradition of Hajj certificates through five reinterpreted posters. The project narrates the pilgrimage’s chronological journey from The Call to The Completion, weaving together diverse interpretive lenses. By integrating historical, neuroscientific, and spiritual perspectives, the work illuminates the soul’s purification and the cultural depth of the Ummah. Labayt bridges history and modernity, ensuring that the spiritual and commemorative essence of the Hajj journey remains alive in the contemporary experience.

View Instagram Stories in Secret

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
