Finally, a gig I can say I was at. I have worked this year, I just can’t tell you about it. And no, that does not mean they were super secret special gigs! But this one was nice and catering was on point 🫡

Mercury Prize 2025

Featuring a bare trophy, and @johndodkin mixing Wolf Alice (picture taken before he changed into his stage leotard).

And finally myself & @tim.hawes1 celebrating the life of Kim Lewis, sound engineer and ball of dancing energy with a toast of vimto at 21.00 on the load in. ❤️

I have been mixing some Doves shows this summer. They are great.

Last night I had a career first where the guy in the middle came up at the end:
“Are you the sound engineer?”
(Normally this could go one of two ways)

“Er… yes?”

“Here’s a tip. It sounded great”
And he handed me £10!

Guy on the right turns up. “Are you the sound engineer?”
(However this turns out, at least the stats would show a 50% satisfaction rate)
“Loved it, thank you”

Trevor Gilligan apparently he knows what he is talking about as he is your mate!

Popped into fbn studios and there’s loads of arty pictures of people who’ve rehearsed there. Quite hard to tell who some of them are, but I did recognisethis one, I assume it’s from Stephen Merchant and David Preston’s stand up tour a few years back?

1941 Pastel of José Tomley (24 years old?), on brown parcel paper because of paper rationing.

Next to Lara Snow, great granddaughter (11 1/2 months). I was carrying her past this morning and noticed the curls and similar colour top 🥰

I got to attend a number 1 party yesterday for Courteeners’ album “St Jude”, and many threads of the last 15 years drew together.

Ali Tant was the person pushing this in the corridors of record companies and meetings with lawyers. We met when he worked for Dance to the Radio in Leeds back in ~2007 with Forward Russia and The Pigeon Detectives.

Joe Cross (bass) is in the photo with me. I recorded demos for his first band, Performance, and then observed as he became a producer. Obviously he didn’t listen to anything I said as he’s now done very well for himself. This is his second number 1 in 12 months as he also wrote/produced Louis Tomlinson’s album.

Conrad and Dave at SJM management have built up a very successful management roster and it started back with the Courteeners.

And then of course the band. They’ve stuck with it through thick and thin, and have had to take big risks - but they’ve always trusted in themselves and bet the house on their instincts. They’ve definitely worked for this award.

Well done all of you!

View Instagram Stories in Secret

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
