my new album, ‘The Ground Above’ available for pre order via link 🤍
Linear time has no place in music. I find myself trying to iron out my brain like a map, to show what started where, I could spend forever writing notes in the margins, notes to self, finding archaeological artifacts, layers of soil and magic, the strata of love, sorrow and joy in relation to time, all that goes into the architecture of any particular song.
What has kept me alive is a feral invincibility, barrelling through life, propelled magnetically as in a flying dream that won’t allow for time to get hold of my ankles and catch up with me. Grief had me say yes to life, to embrace and taste and devour. I know life to be as pointless and as meaningful as I can make it. I wanted to write some of this into a dream, a confluence of meaning and feeling.
The Ground Above.
I can think of no better way to introduce some of the musicians who worked on my upcoming record than by way of this live session directed by Iain and Jane Pollard and Joseph Lynn. In February of this year, we piled into Fish Factory Studios in Willesden and recreated a live recording of Waiting. Fish Factory was where the initial sessions for the record started, and Waiting was the first song I played Chris Vatalaro, Tom Herbert, Dave Okumu and Sam Beste on our first day of recording. The love I felt in the room for them and from them throughout was a rare connection. The track and the song went on further adventures over the coming year and to meet up again and reinhabit some of the changes, the magic that Christos Stylianides brought to the track being among the highlights, was a homecoming. This moment being captured through the wonder that is Jane and Iain and Joseph and their team was a beautiful dream. Thank you to everyone involved.

I want to talk more about the experiences of the work I’m involved in making so I am starting a newsletter. I am hoping to find a place for writing that exists beyond my songs; somewhere behind the scenes – literally and otherwise. I’ve not done anything quite so revealing before without it getting deleted along the way. This one will be mine and I am excited to connect with a past life I’ve tried very hard to go into hiding from and the new one my music is pulling me ever deeper into.
If you would like to sign up to “Notes in the Margins,” my first outing will be next Thursday 16th April. Link in bio..

An honour to sing Marianne Faithfull’s self-scribed song ‘Sister Morphine’. Amid all the many songs she’s written with other people or inhabited otherwise, last night at the premiere of @brokenenglish.film it was mind blowing to hear so many spectacular artists bring her work to life. Thank you to @iainandjane for having me 🖤
Marianne was the living example of something women are notoriously encouraged to fail at: being free.

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
