A little while back, a longtime customer named Richard Simpkin mentioned offhand some photo books he’d made featuring his images of INXS frontman Michael Hutchence, and how well some of those images might work as skateboard graphics. As it turned out, Richard was a close friend of Michael’s, and was more than happy work with us on some shop boards featuring his photography. After some time poring through what turned out to be an extensive archive, the first run of boards featuring Richard’s images are now available at Boardworld.
Richard found himself at Sydney’s Rhinoceros Studios in 1990 during the recording of the INXS album ‘X’, and formed a friendship with Michael and the band. Over the next 7 years, he regularly snapped photos at rehearsals, shows, and the moments between, before Michael’s untimely passing in 1997.
Along with his images, Richard also owns a vast collection of INXS ephemera, including original handwritten lyrics and mementos from Michael and the band. These lyrics, including an early handwritten draft of Never Tear Us Apart, were scanned from their original documents and incorporated alongside Richard’s images for the board’s top and bottom graphics.
The ‘Paddington’ board features two images (top & bottom graphics) of Michael Hutchence performing at the Paddington RSL during a secret show in 1992, days before headlining Concert For Life, alongside draft lyrics from Never Tear Us Apart, as scanned from their original document.
The ‘Self Portrait’ board features a simple self-portrait drawing by Michael Hutchence for Richard Simpkin, during the recording of the INXS album ‘X’ in 1990. The top graphic includes Michael’s handwritten lyrics to Tiny Daggers, from INXS’s seminal ‘Kick’ album.
The ‘Pioneer’ board features Michael Hutchence cycling through Sydney in 1992, with a top graphic featuring a portrait taken at the Polish Club in 1993, alongside handwritten lyrics to Kiss The Dirt, scanned from their original document.
Boards are limited to 50 units per graphic and are available now at our Newtown & online stores, with $10 from every sale donated to Beyond Blue.

Series 17 from @bonesbrigade has landed, with all preorders now shipped. Big thanks to everyone who placed an order and was patient while these made their way to Australia, we appeciate you!
All remaining stock is now available online, with fast & free shipping Australia-wide as always.
Some classic graphic and shape choices this year, and I feel like we say this every time, but they really do look even nicer in person. They’ve gone with select holographic hits this time around, so the decks shine and shadow differently depending on the light without being as finicky as last year’s gold editions. Silver foil just works.
We’ve also got a limited run of the accompanying t-shirts in all available sizes and colours (only one of each).
@mikemcgill - 9.88”x30.58” - 215B Shape
@stevecaballero - 10”x30” - 150 Shape
@tonyhawk - 10.41”x30.28” - 232 Shape
@tommyguerrero - 9.85”x31.35” - 269 Shape
@rodneymullen - 7.4”x27.62” - 202 Shape

They’ve gone with select holographic hits this time around, so the decks shine and shadow differently depending on the light without being as finicky as last year’s gold editions. Silver foil just works.
We’ve also got a limited run of the accompanying t-shirts in all available sizes and colours (only one of each).

@ryanviertel Quick lunch break wallie manny in the new @asics_skateboarding Japan Pro colourway 🚮
Almost all of us at the shop have skated at least one pair of Japan Pros, and they’ve quietly become one of the most popular shoes on the shelf. They’re a little bit tougher and more rigid than the Gel Vickka, with that reinforced heel and toe so they last ages, and they have a super supportive fit with that thicker tongue and internal elastic band that keeps everything steady.
We’ve also just restocked the classic black/white colourway alongside these, which never stay around for long. If you’re after something with a little more support and longevity than the popular low profile cupsoles in the market, you’ll love this shoe.
As always, you can find the full range at King Street or the webstore, with fast and free shipping on all shoes 🤝

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
