Duarte CA 1968 - I made a Skateboard History Video this past week to help further uncover the truth about Skatepark History. Most skateboarders have been taught or believe they got their start in 1976, but the evidence is clear. There were many built in the 1960's and this one from my hometown, Duarte California (til 5th grade) is still there and you can even ride on it!
We have it as the 12th oldest skatepark on our timeline on Concrete Disciples and the oldest one you can still ride to this day.

Philadelphia skateboarding has some crazy history, but I had never heard about a skatepark on the grounds of an abandoned prison until I found this video!
