Oh my gosh ! Do you remember when I said I was so happy about that first bird using my fountain to take a drink? Well, I also made it this way purposefully , hoping that they would use it to take baths and cool off on our hot Arizona days .Today is the first time I’ve seen it happen.!! Look how cute they are!! As I sat in my swing overlooking my pond in my yard this evening, just breathing quietly , reflecting on today’s events and taking it all in. I reminded myself of how lucky I am to have this beautiful place. I took a few deep breaths, just as the sun was peeking through the window of The Smolder Inn .Something beautiful that I get to look at every day that rose from ashes .Life is a series of up and downs , joys and frightening situations , wins and losses - still so very happy to be here . #blessed #Myhappyplace #SmolderInn @villafanestudios @alwayswandering_neverlost

Well shit Y’all - 1st off we are OK! But this started directly across the street from me and I saw it happening in real time. No warning to get ready.I could hear what I assume would have been propane tanks, exploding in the background - I Immediately put out a call for help.As usual this community,friends and neighbors came through.I really don’t want this to become a routine.- but I am so very thankful for everybody . within about a half hour we had almost all of the animals loaded up and ready to go- thanks to our amazing fire department, this blaze was put out fairly quickly, and we did not actually have to leave the property even though the majority of the animals were loaded and ready . The last couple remaining animals that were next to be loaded up ended up not having to go through the distress of being caught and crated -thank you to my dear friends who are always ready to help me at the drop of a hat- and to the amazing people of Wickenburg , who also show up for their neighbors in need every time. -love you all !

I know you guys have seen this 1938 Cadillac water feature before …when I first put it together I decided to make the back of it a flower bed, but then quickly realized how hard it was to police the grass growing in it and the weeds between the flowers- this time around , I am turning it into a bog filter for the pond- eventually it will be filled with water plants and water flowers ( which will help to filter the water ) Spent today putting it together- I think it’s gonna be cool! 😎Can’t wait for the plants to grow ! #diy #waterfeature #swimmingpond #koipond

So many cuties on this lastweek’s shoot!In spite of the long hours, everybody did a really great job. Just came off of a three day shoot with so many sweet animals but I wanted to give a special shout out to Pickle … who came to me about a year and a half ago from a pretty bad situation- this week she had her first official job- and I am really proud of her! Especially given how she came into the world . Although it wasn’t her first time on set.( she has interned a few times.;) it was her first time actually working and she did a great job- truly, such a loving, huggable, sweet, smart little dog.. and she shared her love with anyone that would accept it - I will definitely give a shout out to everybody else in my next post, but this one is just for Pickle -the goodest girl ! ❤️❤️❤️🐾😊 #rescuemutt #dogactor #dogmodel #a1animaltalent

We all know someone that will eat something like a ghost pepper “ just for kicks “ I never understood the concept of eating food that hurts you - but apparently Ziggy does ! I think maybe he was one of those ghost pepper eating people in a previous life😂. … because here he is eating bees! They for sure are stinging him every single time !- he will seek them out and eat them anyway😳😬. I do try to keep an eye on him becauseobviously, up to this point, he has not developed any sort of allergy to them, but I am aware that that could change so I try to keep a close watch on him.. ( and have Benadryl handy ) He just seems to really enjoy munching on spicy sky raisins for reasons only he knows - it’s very weird 😂😂😂🐝 #crazydog #dogsofinstagram #bees
