Now… we are planning to print more zines, as many people have had to miss out (including our parents!)… Please DM us if you weren’t able to snag a zine and would like one (or two or three) in your name :) This way we can estimate how many more to print.

A sneak peak of Ava Lauren’s ‘Then And Now’, a photograph collection of an upcycled singlet (cotton & elastic).

Here’s a small piece of Ava’s written reflection on the collection:

“Inspired by my devotion to dance, especially my commitment to it during my youth and teen years, dance and movement have shaped many aspects of who I am today. Dance is something that is worshipped by both myself and the people around me. This particular singlet was inspired by the various leotards I wore as a young child…”

A sneak peak of Lilly Grainger’s creative writing piece ‘Lots of Condiments’.

Here’s a little message from Lilly about the piece:

“Ever heard the saying ‘If we don’t laugh we’ll cry?’ You might’ve heard your mum say it in passing, perhaps after one too many wines - but I’d advise against dismissing your mum. One, she wiped your ass and two listening to your parents’ learnings and random anecdotal comments might just be the salve you need to soothe the growing pains that are your 20’s.

‘Lots of Condiments’ is a dedication to our caregivers, a ‘sorry’ note if you will, for the many years of my adolescence spent dismissing their wise recommendations and giving up the good bits of myself to smoke weed on a boy’s balcony.”

A sneak peak of Aisling McComiskey’s ‘Into The Heart’.

“‘Into The Heart’ visually translates a fragmented journal entry. Through a collage of handwritten letters, illustrations, scanned book pages, and photographs, it maps out the intense romanticisation inherent in devotion to another person.”

But today, we are here to say…Sayonara! We are going dark for the summer break before returning with a bang in late Jan. Then, inFeb we will be going to print.

Devotion surrounds anything you deeply care about in a loving, servile, dutiful or silly sense ❤️‍🔥🍝🙏♋️🎶.

Your piece could be about place, a feeling, a craft, an object, religion, your favourite meal or a person 👵.

Devotion zine opens up an inclusive space for creatives to share their voice freely, all profits will go to JUNO (check out their work in our bio).
