For our second introduction, we are elated to announce that the wonderful violinist David Baik is joining our quartet! You can catch him in concerts with us starting June.

To learn a bit more about him:

As a soloist, David has performed with orchestras including Sinfonia Toronto, Toronto Summer Music Festival Orchestra, Durham Chamber Orchestra, North York Symphony Orchestra, Ottawa Youth Orchestra, among others. In the 2026 season, he will tour South America as asoloist with the Canadian Virtuoso Ensemble.

A passionate chamber musician, David has performed with esteemed artists such as Peter Bruns, Helene Clement, Dover Quartet, Charles Richard Hamelin, Jennifer Koh, Andrew Wan, Desmond Hoebig, and Jonathan Crow. Additionally, his former string quartet has garnered acclaim, earning multiple awards, including the 2024 Schiermonnikoog Festival Audience Award and the Grand Prize at the 2023 McGill Chamber Music Competition. In 2024, the quartet toured extensively across the Netherlands.

David obtained his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Toronto, where he studied with Jonathan Crow, and continued his training at the Schulich School of Music under Andrew Wan as a fellowship recipient. For the 2024/25 season, he was a member of the Rebanks Family Fellowship and International Residency Program at the Royal Conservatory of Music. He has made appearances at the Geneva International String Academy, Toronto Summer Music festival, Schiermonnikoog Festival, Netherlands String Quartet Academy, McGill International String Quartet Academy, and the Trondheim String Quartet Academy.

He performs on the 1871 J.B. Vuillaume (‘Messiah’ Stradivari) violin, generously on loan from the Canada Council for the Arts.

Fun fact: David likes to try the local beers wherever he travels to, so if you are about to travel abroad and want to know the best places, ask him, he’ll point you in the right direction!

Hi everyone, it’s been a little while!
2025 has been a year of change for us, and we wanted to take a moment to say thank you—to everyone who’s been following along, coming to concerts, and supporting us through it all.
To our dear Toby and Caleb: thank you for unforgettable years of music, friendship, and shared life on and off stage. We built together nothing less than a family, so proud of all we’ve done, seen, and experienced together.

To the incredible musicians who joined us as guests this season: Yuri, Jacob, Daisy, Matthew, and Patrick - it has been a joy and privilege to collaborate!

We are so excited to share new updates soon, stay tuned!
