a belated birthday to my beautiful mama! inside and out. mom at 18 and again at 21 (with me). your unwavering love, passion, positivity and warm & welcoming style are characteristics we should all strive to have. and for you it’s always been natural. a real gift! i’ve been close to home for 52 years and feel lucky for every second. love you

2012 cortina tre cime full throttle ascent with andy hampsten, the only american to win the giro on a snowy ascent in 1988. i was in great shape at 39 years old and andy rode off the front with me, recalling historic ascents up this beast of a climb as we hammered to the top of the dead end road, that ends at this picturesque setting.

2016 i had a good few months on a borrowed tt bike. my first time on the machine and it felt right at home. after a bit of terrorizing on the now ride, i had a good day at the california state championships. my first time training and racing with a power meter, i put in a solid 48 minutes at 395 watts. sport continues to make me grateful for the years and decades of hard work and memories!
