Did you know some of the names across WAAPA’s new home at ECU City come from deeply personal stories? 💛✨

From walking to performances as a child, to gifting a world-class piano, to dedicating a lifetime to supporting students - every named space carries a story of generosity and belief in the future of the arts.

🎹 McCusker Recital Hall
A flagship stage for classical performance, now home to hundreds of voices and a world-class piano gifted by the McCusker family. Their nearly two-decade support of WAAPA continues to shape what’s possible for the next generation of performers.

🎭 Paula Huston Auditorium
Once a child walking to WAAPA performances in Mount Lawley, Paula Huston has now left a legacy that will support students for years to come. Her gift ensures future artists can step from Perth onto global stages.

✨ Derksen Studio
Built on a belief in the “unsung heroes” of performance, this studio honours Lesley Joy Derksen’s lifelong connection to WAAPA and her passion for backstage and production work. Her legacy now supports students across sound, Aboriginal performance and children’s literature.

More spaces across ECU City are yet to be named, and with them, more stories still to be told ❤️

🌈 We shared an incredible evening collaborating with @rainbowfutureswa to host our inaugural IDAHOBIT Lecture at ECU City on Friday ❤️

With over 100 guests in attendance, the evening began with a beautiful Welcome to Country from Aunty Dot Bagshaw and a Ministerial Address from Hon Hannah Beazley MLA.

We were honoured to have ECU alum Narelda Jacobs OAM join us for a powerful keynote presentation exploring experiences of LGBTIQA+ discrimination and racism, and the urgent need for stronger legal protections for minoritised communities. The lecture was followed by a panel, facilitated by RFWA CEO Dr Misty Farquhar OAM, of inspiring queer Noongar leaders who shared insights on how we can drive meaningful change for LGBTIQA+ and First Nations communities.

Thank you to the panel members, Professor Braden Hill, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Students and Education), Tanesha B., Aboriginal Community Organiser at Rainbow Futures WA/WAAC, Kurtis Makuru from The Westerman Jilya Institute for Indigenous Mental Health, and Narelda Jacobs OAM, for sharing your insights.

At ECU we are committed to celebrating progress for LGBTIQA+ and First Nations rights while recognising there’s still more work to do. The event was a powerful reminder that meaningful progress happens when universities, community organisations and advocates come together to create safer, more inclusive communities for all 🏳️‍🌈🖤💛❤️

Does it seem like everybody wants to study when you want to study? 🥀

Plan ahead to secure a spot in the library when you most need it. You can book study rooms using your student email in Outlook. If you ever get stuck, speak with one of our friendly Peer Support helpers in the library 📚✨

🏎️ 💨 ECU Racing is a team of our students who design, manufacture, build and even drive motorsport cars! The team is gearing up to compete in July's Formula Student 2026 in the UK.

Last year they competed in Formula SAE Australasia in car 'Gwen' (pictured), and came first overall in the Internal Combustion class. Drawing on multiple seasons of competition experience, Gwen was engineered for performance and reliability. Every detail reflects countless of hours of dedication, collaboration and innovation.

🚜 👷‍♀️ Did you know the lake on our Joondalup Campus was constructed in 1990? A giant waterproof liner was covered with sand to create the shape.

Some very interesting objects have floated across its waters over the years, including a zorb ball in 2016 for the ECU Joondalup Open Day, and a giant wine cask bag in 2014. ‘Bulk Carrier’ was an artwork by ECU alumni Norton Flavel that also featured in Sculpture by the Sea that year, an event that was sponsored by ECU.

⛲ 🦆 Today, the lake is a focal point of the campus, and a thriving wetland habitat for native flora and fauna.

View Instagram Stories in Secret

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
