In an artist talk hosted by fellow artist emeka ene, Jefta van Dinther will share his references with the audience, unearthing materials from the past to trace lines of inspiration and influence throughout his practice. “Sources & Resources” frames an artist’s references as inspirations, bringing fragments—videos, music, artworks, books, conversations—into the room as living companions to the work. During the session, Van Dinther will reflect on how these materials have shaped his thinking and movement, becoming sparks or anchors within his creative processes. By sharing and discussing these references, a chronology and genealogy of the work will emerge, revealing its patchwork character and situating each piece within a wider field of cultural, aesthetic, and philosophical concerns. “Sources & Resources” is not only a talk but an invitation for audiences to witness how ideas travel and transform within an artistic practice, revealing the porous, relational, and layered nature of Van Dinther’s work.

This workshop begins with the act of singing, what it stirs in us, how it moves us. In uncertain times, when our attention is fragmented and our bodies can feel dislocated, voice offers a grounding back to ourselves. Though immaterial, the voice shapes and animates the material body, vibrating through flesh, shifting posture, presence, and perception.⁠
