Hey everyone! It’s been a while since I’ve posted here, so I wanted to reintroduce myself ☺️

My name is Gabrielle Giroux. I’m a Denesuline woman from Hatchet Lake First Nation (Treaty 10), currently living in Saskatoon (Treaty 6). Along with design, I’m a guitar player for the band @deadexgirlfriends, a rez dog mom, and an artist who works across mediums from painting to crafts.

Since my last post, I’ve completed my Bachelor of Commerce with Distinction, majoring in Marketing, while continuing to design. I’m excited to now offer both design and marketing services ✨

My experiences in women and gender studies, marketing, pop culture, and the music industry have all shaped my approach to design, helping me create work that is bold, relevant, inclusive, and connected to larger social conversations. In addition, my growing connection to my Denesuline culture has deepened my commitment to providing designs and marketing that foster truth and reconciliation, ensuring every project I touch helps move us forward in a meaningful way.

In 2021, we designed Circle Back: Stories of Reflection, Connection and Transformation, an empowering publication created through the collaborative works of Indigenous youth leaders from both South Africa and communities in Canada. This book was part of the youth-led efforts of the @networks4change and @mtw_p2e projects and was guided by three youth editors, Hannah Battiste (Break the Silence, Be The Change, Eskasoni, NS, Canada), Andraya Daniels (Young Indigenous Women’s Utopia, Treaty 6, The Traditional Homeland of the Métis, Saskatoon, SK, Canada), and Bongiwe Maome (Girls Leading Change, Gqeberha, Eastern Cape, South Africa).
