Last night at the 39th American Cinematheque Awards Gala was a reminder of why stories matter and why the places where we share them matter even more.

As a member of the Board of Directors, I had the privilege of witnessing something truly special:
not only the honoring of the incredible @michaelbjordan , but the recognition of a career that continues to inspire audiences around the world.
His journey as an actor, director, and producer is extraordinary and last night felt like a beautiful kickoff to what we all hope will be an unforgettable awards season for him.

During the evening, Jason Reitman described the American Cinematheque’s vision as becoming “the Carnegie Hall of cinema.”
A place where filmmakers, audiences, partners, and communities come together around stories that deserve to be seen and felt.

And with the newly announced partnership to restore the iconic Westwood Village Fox Theatre, reopening in 2027 supported by an exceptional coalition of filmmakers including Steven Spielberg, Christopher Nolan, Guillermo del Toro and many others this vision is becoming real.

What moves me most is seeing how much opportunity lies ahead:
opportunities to create emotion, to bring people together, and to serve a cultural mission that goes far beyond entertainment.

Hill Valley is proud to contribute to this journey and grateful to do so alongside the incredible brands who trust us.
This collective energy is what allows great stories to continue to be told and shared.

The future of this institution is bright, and full of stories waiting to happen.

I don’t believe the people we lose are somewhere scrolling through social media…
But I do believe that when someone leaves, they keep living through us.
Through our stories, our memories, and the way we try to honor what they taught us.
Speaking their name keeps them alive. Their legacy keeps guiding us.

Today, I want to honor a man who changed my life and the life of my family. A true mentor.
A man who always lived out of the box.
Who taught me that a life without risk isn’t a life worth living.

And yes, when you take risks, you make mistakes.
You fall, you get things wrong.
But you try to fix them.
You try to earn forgiveness.
And you keep moving forward.

He taught me to be true, true to the people you love, true to life, true to the joys, the sorrows, and the love that makes us who we are.

Without him, we would never have come to the United States.
So much of our story exists because of him.

I’m thinking of you today.. of my children, my family, and of Jane, Marc, Jody and of everything you left inside us.

You’re with us. Lawry Gordon. Always. ❤️

My son @eliezer16n started writing and composing his album in his bedroom at 13 years old. Slowly, over the years, he kept working on it, refining it, building his vision.

Then, like a true entrepreneur, he went out into the world to make it real.
He went to jazz clubs to meet the musicians he had always dreamed of working with, and convinced them to join him.
He reached out to the gospel voices he wanted and inspired none other than the @harlemgospelchoir to take part in the project.
He even earned the chance to record at the legendary Hit Factory, the mythical studio where Michael Jackson recorded his greatest hits.

He did it all on his own, by winning hearts, sharing his vision, and making people believe in it.

Step by step, he turned an idea born in his bedroom into a fully realized album.

Today, at only 16, he’s releasing his first single, while my other son @emilenebot had the incredible experience at only 13 years old of acting in Josh Safdie’s upcoming film Marty Supreme alongside Timothée Chalamet. And I couldn’t be prouder.

Because if there’s one thing I know for sure, it’s that the greatest success you can ever achieve in life is watching your children turn their dreams into reality. Proud of you Emile and Eliezer.
