One Year Since We Got the Keys

A year ago, we got the keys.
An empty shed, a few mates, and a vision, and we were happy to have a crack.

What started as a bare space is now Fighter Factory Brisbane, a home for athletes, families, and kids finding their feet.

We’ve built something real through hard work, belief, and community. From renovations and late nights to a fire, a cyclone, and even a fraud ring, we kept showing up.

Since then, we’ve seen our boxers compete on world, national, and state stages, hosted Queensland Development Camps, and built partnerships with schools, clubs, and businesses who share our vision.

It’s been the dedication of our coaches and the support of our members that’s made it all possible. You’re not just the heartbeat of this place, you are the culture.

Here’s to the first year, to everyone who’s believed, supported, and shown up.
We’re proud of what’s been built, grateful for the lessons, and fired up for what’s next. Thanks to everyone who has supported us.

Walking through the gym recently, it’s clear to see how much everyone is improving on the focus mitts and on their technique. We’re grateful for the strong community that’s been built here in such a short time.

Members often tell us how good the atmosphere feels, but the truth is we only play a small part in it. We believe culture is a collective of everyone’s happiness. The good acts, the encouragement, the warm welcome to new starters… it all spills over and makes this place special. 🦍Standards! I work a lot of my time in combat sports, and this is what I see. If you have low or no standards you WILL 💯 come and go, win a few fights because you got matched well, but eventually your shit standards will match your outcomes.

Conversely, set, reach and uphold high standards and will ultimately WIN 🥇

🦍Overhead strength Level 3, the Push Jerk.

10% stronger versus the Push Press as you get to jump back under the weight which reduces the vertical height that the bar is required to get to.

It’s cognitively a little more difficult and our body may or will struggle to put the drive and the jump under the bar together, but once it does it feels strong, secure and powerful.

This lift is advanced and will take time with a wooden dowel and an empty bar to get used to, so be patient.
