Fletcher Studio is happy to announce that we will be hosting an event for @SFdesignweek to showcase the creative mind and legacy of JB Blunk.
Join us Monday, June 8th to participate in a special lecture from Mariah Nielson, Blunk’s daughter, curator, and design historian.
We’ll learn about Mariah’s research on artist JB Blunk, whose work with raw, salvaged materials represents an innate expression of, and conversation with, nature, often inspired by his surroundings in Inverness, CA. Mariah will also discuss her own artistic practice and work to create Blunk Space, a gallery hosting contemporary exhibiting artists who collaborate across time and disciplines, drawing from and honoring Blunk’s legacy.

We would like to shine a spotlight on Trini Porras for her time interning at Fletcher Studio and a congratulations on graduating from her Bachelors of Landscape Architecture program at UC Berkeley!!!
We asked Trini to share a bit about her experience interning at Fletcher:
“Fletcher Studio really showed me how interdisciplinary the field of landscape architecture is. You are constantly engaging with new and different things, whether that is design, community engagement, construction, ecology, plants, marketing, etc. That makes it really exciting to work on projects and see all of the cool stuff that is happening.
Landscape Architecture is a highly collaborative practice, where progress is really dependent on communication and teamwork across a variety of disciplines and stakeholders. That makes it really exciting to work on projects because there is always something new to learn and be exposed to.
This experience showed me how rewarding landscape architecture is because it brings together design and ecology to create spaces that positively impact communities and the environment.”

Last week, the park was unveiled to the public with a ceremony gathering community members, local leadership, and contributors to the park’s design and development.
The almost 0.75 acres park is designed with a little bit of everything, and is open to everyone, including:
- The most BBQ areas we have ever installed on one job (8 total!)
- Family-sized picnic tables for your big park party
- A rainbow-playground, inspired by colorful fields of wildflowers
- A flexible lawn area
- A learning garden for families
- Porch swings looking out at crazy views of the Bay
- Supergraphic concrete paving patterns that define outdoor spaces

We are thrilled to share that Hunters View Phase III Park, the largest park open space in the Hunters View neighborhood, is now open!
Last week, the park was unveiled to the public with a ceremony gathering community members, local leadership, and contributors to the park’s design and development.
The almost 0.75 acres park is designed with a little bit of everything, and is open to everyone, including:
- The most BBQ areas we have ever installed on one job (8 total!)
- Family-sized picnic tables for your big park party
- A rainbow-playground, inspired by colorful fields of wildflowers
- A flexible lawn area
- A learning garden for families
- Porch swings looking out at crazy views of the Bay
- Supergraphic concrete paving patterns that define outdoor spaces
We're excited to share some photos from the event and we can't wait to see the community get out there and play!
