“When Angelica Lisk-Hann was chosen to host the 23rd ACTRA Awards — the first stunt performer ever to do so — she knew she couldn’t just walk on stage and read a script. So she teamed up with fellow stunt pro Daniel Lavigne to co-write, co- direct, and star in a short film that would kick off the night with a bang. The night of the Awards, ACTRA Toronto Executive Director Alistair Hepburn came out to tell the crowd that the HOST was missing, and that they were looking for her. Then the lights dimmed and “Stop Horsing Around” began to play— a wild, funny, and painfully relatable ride through one chaotic day in Angelica’s life as she battles brain fog, wild horses, distracted drivers, and hormonal havoc all while racing to make it to her hosting gig …..on time”

We are thrilled to announce that award-winning Stunt Coordinator (and 2023 ACTRA Toronto Award of Excellence recipient) Angelica Lisk-Hann is your host for the 23rd #ACTRAAwards in Toronto, proudly presented by AFBS and produced by Yellow House Events!

Angelica is an award-winning stunt coordinator, director, actor and mentor, with over three decades of experience in the entertainment industry.

A trailblazer in her field, she made history as the first Black female stunt coordinator in Canada and remains one of a rare few worldwide. With 30+ years as a performer, 15 years as a stunt coordinator and five as a director, Angelica has contributed to over 250 film and television projects worldwide and coordinated stunts for over 80 shows.

Her portfolio features notable projects like the award-winning Book of Negroes, Kick-Ass 2, Clarice, Accused and, for the past two seasons, the record-breaking TV series Cross where she serves as the supervising stunt coordinator and 2nd unit director for the series. Angelica and her business partner Daniel Lavigne were recently nominated for a NAACP Award for their work on Cross.

Angelica’s contributions to the film and television industry extend beyond her work in action. A passionate advocate for stunt recognition, Angelica lobbied the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television to create the Canadian Screen Award for Best Stunt Coordination and helped establish the ACTRA Stunt Award. Her dedication to excellence was further recognized when she won the 2020 CSA for Best Stunt Coordination for the TV series Mary Kills People. In 2023, Angelica received the prestigious ACTRA Toronto Award of Excellence and was named one of Toronto Life Magazine’s 50 Most Influential People of the Year in 2024, making her the first person from the stunt community to be honoured with either distinction.

We look forward to celebrating the ACTRA Awards at one of Toronto’s most iconic venues: the TELUS Centre for Performance and Learning, Koerner Hall on the evening of Thursday, May 8th.

Great time at the Habitat for Humanity charity gala last week. I walked away with some nice silent auction items. As you can see the husband in its natural environment falling asleep at the lobby bar during the ceremonial night cap stage of the evening. Can you guess which dress I chose? Congrats to HFH for raising over 2 million dollars and to my husband’s company for supporting and raising funds for this important cause. Everyone should have a place to live and be safe! ❤️
