🍏Mae’r argyfwng costau byw yn golygu bod gormod o bobl yng Nghymru yn methu fforddio rhoi bwyd ar y bwrdd. Ar yr un pryd, rydym yn ddibynnol ar gadwyni cyflewni byd-eang anseflydlog ar gyfer ein ffrwythau a’n llysiau – wyd y gallem fod yn ei dyfu yma.

Fe wnaethom gefnogi lansiad Cerdyn y Blaned yng Nghaerdydd, cynllun peilot a roddodd gredyd wythnosol i aelwydydd incwm isel ar gyfer ffrwythau a llysiau organig, gan helpu cyfranogwyr i gynyddu eu cymeriant i dros bum y dydd, tra’n cefnogi tyfwyr lleol cynaliadwy ar yr un pryd.

Mae hyn yn dangos bod modd gwneud ffrwythau a llysiau’n fforddiadwy i’r teuluoedd sydd eu hangen fwyaf, a’n bod yn gallu rhoi hwb i dyfwyr Cymru a chadwyni cyflenwi lleol, tra’n gwella iechyd a llesiant.

Mae’n hanfodol bod Llywodraeth Cymru a chyrff cyhoeddus yn blaenoriaethu datblygu ein sector garddwriaeth ac yn buddsoddi mewn cynlluniau talebau ffrwythau a llysiau fel bod y teuluoedd sydd eu hangen fwyaf yn gallu bwyta bwyd Cymreig iach, nawr ac yn y dyfodol.

🍏The cost-of-living crisis means too many people in Wales cannot afford to put food on the table. At the same time, we are reliant on unstable global supply chains for our fruit and vegetables – food which we could be growing here.

We supported the Planet Card launch in Cardiff, a pilot which gave low-income households weekly credit for organic fruit and veg, helping participants increase their intake to above five-a-day, while simultaneously supporting sustainable local growers.
It shows us that making fruit and veg affordable to the families that need it most is possible and that we can boost Welsh growers and local supply chains while improving health and well-being.

It is vital that the Welsh Government and public bodies prioritise growing our horticulture sector and invest in fruit and veg voucher schemes so that the families that need it the most can eat healthy Welsh food, now and in the future.
