May is Military Appreciation Month, a time to honor the men and women who serve our nation, and the families who stand beside them.
To those currently in uniform, our veterans, and those who have made the ultimate sacrifice, we recognize the dedication, honor, and commitment it takes to defend our freedoms. Their service strengthens our country and inspires us every day.
We are proud to stand with our nation’s defenders this month and always. 🇺🇸

Today, during National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend, we pause to honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their communities.
Across the country, families, departments, and communities gather to remember those lost in 2025 and in years past, ensuring their courage and sacrifice are never forgotten.
We honor their legacy and stand with the loved ones who carry it forward each day. 🚒🇺🇸

Today, on Silver Star Service Banner Day, we honor the wounded, ill, and injured service members who have sacrificed so much in defense of our nation.
The Silver Star Service Banner represents their courage and resilience, and recognizes the families who stand beside them through every challenge and every step of recovery.
We are deeply grateful for their service, their strength, and the sacrifices they continue to make. 🇺🇸

Today, we were honored to celebrate U.S. Marine Corps Staff Sergeant (Ret.) Jason Pacheco as he moves into his mortgage-free, specially adapted smart home built by the Gary Sinise Foundation.
From a young age, Jason discovered a natural talent for shooting - a skill that would ultimately lead him to the Marine Corps and into the Scout Sniper Platoon. After graduating at the top of his class and earning the title of High Shooter, he deployed to Afghanistan in 2010.
Shortly into his deployment, Jason was pinned down in a 4-hour firefight. During a battle damage assessment, he stepped on an improvised explosive device. The blast caused significant injuries, including a below-the-knee amputation.
Through months of intense recovery, Jason pushed himself to heal and return to the Marines. Less than a year after his injuries, he became one of the first three Marine Corps amputees to return to a combat zone on full duty, a testament to his determination, resilience, & commitment to his fellow Marines.
Today, Jason continues to move forward with strength and purpose, raising his children & participating in adaptive sports, including hockey & track.
This home will provide Jason with the accessibility, independence, & stability he deserves as he continues building his life forward.
Welcome home, Jason, and thank you for your extraordinary courage & sacrifice. 💙
A special thank you to the American people and our amazing partners, without whom this would not be possible: @SunbeltRentals, Nice, and @CenturyWire.
We also want to thank the following partners for dedicating their time, energy, generosity, and resources to the construction of Jason’s home: The Marcus Foundation, Home Depot Foundation, Shubert Design Furniture, Owens Corning, Amazon, Huber Engineered Woods, US LBM, McDermott Will & Schulte, Veterans United, Nucor, Simple Green, Duke Cannon Supply Co., Scripps Family Impact Fund, Cabinetworks Group, JeldWen, LP, Spec Ops Tools, GOVX, Installed Building Products, Winston & Strawn, Alston & Bird, NSI, NWFA, BQuest Homes, BEHR, Broan-NuTone, Daltile, Encore Wire, Ferguson, MAPEI, North American Moving Services, Nucor Rebar Fabrication, Rheem, and Texton.

Chief Master Sgt. of the Air Force JoAnne S. Bass made history as the first woman to serve as the senior enlisted leader of a United States military service and the first person of Asian American descent to serve as the Air Force's top enlisted leader.
Over a 31-year career, she rose to become the 19th Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force, advising senior leaders and representing more than 600,000 Airmen.
During her tenure, she focused on strengthening the enlisted force, improving quality of life for service members and their families, and ensuring the voices of Airmen were heard at the highest levels.
Her legacy of leadership and service continues beyond her retirement, as she remains a strong advocate for the military and veteran community. #WarriorWednesday

This #MedalOfHonorMonday, we salute Harold Christ Agerholm, who during the Battle of Saipan in 1944, displayed extraordinary courage while serving as a U.S. Marine.
When enemy forces overran nearby positions, PFC Agerholm volunteered to help evacuate the wounded. Under relentless rifle and mortar fire, he located an abandoned ambulance jeep and, for more than three hours, made repeated trips into danger, rescuing approximately 45 fellow Marines.
He was ultimately mortally wounded by a sniper while attempting to reach two more injured men.
His selfless bravery and unwavering commitment to others reflect the highest traditions of military service. Today, we salute you.
