i genuinely have not even begun processing this at all and maybe never will? i don’t even know how to speak about it?? standing on that stage and looking at the room around me was so surreal i felt like i was wearing a VR headset AHHH i cannot believe any of it was even real AHHHHHHHHHHHH i want to do it again and again and again forever and ever

the last few days have been absolutely bonkers it has been a most gorgeous privilege to absorb the love shown to me and the EP by so many peeeeople… my songs are so personal and so vulnerable and the fact that people listen to them with such thought and engagement of their own volition (apart from the thousands of people last night who i physically restrained and performed to against their will) is coocoo bananas. when i said may payne world domination 2024 i didn’t tell a lie!

i wrote this song in one big burst after the end of a relationship. it helped me understand how i was feeling in that weird confusing post breakup fog where nothing makes sense & all your memories start changing colour. it felt like shedding a layer of skin!

last august, i rented a little cottage in wales which me, sean, & rhys turned into a makeshift studio. we recorded the whole thing live, without click or headphones (as god intended) on my little magic box & then some beautiful people played some beautiful instruments over the top :’)
