The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is targeting LGBTQ stories. They are trying to control what you see on television. This government overreach is dangerous to the existence of an independent and free media.

In a Public Notice released on April 22, 2026, the FCC is asking Americans to submit comments about whether the TV Oversight Management Board (TVOMB) should create new TV ratings to alert viewers to “transgender and gender non-binary programming” and “the discussion or promotion of gender identity themes.”

The public has until May 22 to submit comments and tell the FCC that LGBTQ characters and stories on television do not harm anyone – our lives should not be compared to content that is violent, coarse, sexual, or includes drug use.

A federal judge in Washington, D.C., blocked the Federal Trade Commission from enforcing investigative demands against two of the nation’s most influential medical organizations involved in transgender health care guidance, the World Professional Association for Transgender Health and the Endocrine Society.

In a statement to The Advocate, the Endocrine Society said: “The D.C. District Court ruling is an important victory that recognizes medical guidelines are a valued resource that allow doctors to support patients in making decisions about their care. This ruling sends a powerful message that government efforts to pressure the medical and scientific community to abandon evidence-based practices are not permissible."

HHS Secretary RFK, Jr. came to Cleveland to spread more LGBTQ health disinformation and other contradictions. Actual medical experts and advocates checked his false claims about:

- The harmful rollback of Hepatitis B vaccine recommendations
- Stigmatizing mental health and antidepressants
- Commitment to nutrition while cutting SNAP and Medicaid
- Plans for a "pharmaceutical powerhouse" after laying off thousands of scientists and stripping hundreds of millions of dollars for medical research

Cleveland.com reported: "Opponents held signs bearing protests such as “Welcome to CLE Doctor Plague” and “RFK Jr. Lies Us Americans Die.”
