“Woodworker Girl”, 2026, acrylic on canvas, 100 x 80 cm.
This work is a homage to George Nakashima, a master craftsman for whom I hold the deepest respect. Several years ago, I became captivated by the beauty and philosophy of his furniture. Since then, I have been gradually collecting his pieces to use in my daily life. I have long envisioned incorporating his influence into my own work, and I am delighted to have finally brought this vision to life.
The inspiration for this piece stems from two visual memories. A childhood photograph of George’s daughter, Mira Nakashima, and a photo of actress Yuriko lshida’s home, where a cat is perched on the arm of a Nakashima Lounge Armchair.
Through this work, I wish to express my respect for craftsmanship that carries a steadfast conviction across eras and generation, while also keeping the concept of sustainability in mind. Furthermore, it reflects a personal curiosity. During my days at art preparatory school, I frequently practiced figure drawing by depicting women seated in chairs. I wanted to see how my current self would interpret that same motif today.
The painting is currently exhibited at the gallery as part of Kohei Yamada solo exhibition.

We are pleased to announce ‘Alberto Di Fabio: Astral Journey into Timeless Borders’, opening Thursday May 8 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, la special project presented with the Avedon Foundation, Yourban2030 and the international editorial platform IRAE – This Is Not The End.
On view from May 8 to 10, the exhibition transforms imagery inspired by the Hubble Space Telescope into vibrant neural constellations. Galaxies dissolve into networks, stars become impulses—revealing a living system where the cosmos and the human body mirror one another.
The exhibition coincides with the launch of IRAE Issue 4 – Borders, a 200+ page art publication conceived by Yourban2030 and HF4. As highlighted in the issue itself, boundaries are explored not as limits, but as spaces of encounter—thresholds where identity, sustainability and human experience intersect.
Alberto Di Fabio was born in 1966 in Avezzano, Italy. His paintings merge the worlds of art and science, depicting natural forms and biological structures in vivid color and imaginative detail. Throughout his abstract images, the artist has developed and expanded his interest in the natural world, with early works dealing with the structures of flora and fauna, as well as eco and astral systems. Di Fabio’s more recent paintings have focused on genetics and DNA, the synaptic receptors of the brain, moving his work into the realm of pharmaceutical and medical research. His works are held in major public and private collections and have been exhibited in museums and galleries worldwide, among which: 6 solo exhibitions at Gagosian gallery; Paul Kasmin gallery, New York; MART, Rovereto; Estorick Collection, London and GNAM, Rome.

We are pleased to announce ‘My Screen Tests’, the first New York City solo show by Kohei Yamada, opening on May 15. The exhibition examines the enduring value of the authentic relationship between artist and artwork, engaging in themes of
irony, introspection, and visual metaphor, which draw inspiration from contemporary practice and Yamada’s nuanced admiration for American Pop art.
Presenting a new suite of paintings on canvas -each paired with its esquisse on paper- In My Screen Tests, Yamada searches within New York City’s identity as the art capital of the world in order to infuse his work with a distinct vitality,
revealing his admiration for Andy Warhol through motifs referencing the Silver Factory era and its entourage, and evoking tension between a sense of historical prestige and vibrant pop expressions.
