Time! Time? TIME WHERE R U

This year has been so, so much fun! I don’t really know where to start. It’s been such a big LEAP for my art journey. I’ve enjoyed creating more and also exploring other mediums too! I’ve started painting more in acrylics as well as venturing more into silly digital stuff and tried making little animations, even some with …FOUR WHOLE FRAMES! Groundbreaking, I know! 💥

I didn’t leave behind my silly little GEOMETRY KIT though! I’ll never get tired of angles and circles 😂 there’s little Easter eggs in each painting if you can solve them. Particular angles, numbers, etc. if you can it’ll be mighty impressive but I also feel like it’s kinda impossible since they’re only very specific numbers to me - so please don’t do it ahaha it’ll be a bit of a waste of time! 😅

My favourite bit of this year has been seeing you guys! My heart is so full! It feels like so much empty space between cons and events because I miss you!
Honestly I am so grateful for all of the support and kindness you’ve all shown me. I think no matter how many years I do this, no matter how many years I am able to walk on this little earth I will forever be overwhelmed and full of gratitude 😭💕 i can’t believe you guys like my artwork - it really just blows my mind! Thank you, so so much. I want to NYOOOOOOM to you all and give you the biggest hugs ever!!

For this year I wanted to draw things I’d not attempted before! Drawing mobile suits from the Gundam universe started off so nerve-wracking but now, at the end of this year they’ve become my favourite thing to draw! (They’re basically a bunch of geometric shapes standing on each other in a trenchcoat right? （˶•̀ ᎑-˶）HEH HEH. …and you know how much I love geometry…!!)

I also wanted to draw more things that I thought might make you guys smile, or laugh! The world is so bleak sometimes, but your friendship always brings me out from the darkness. So what better way than to try to repay the favour right? ^^/

This year was the first year I entered the GBWC! And what a HONKER of an entry that was! 😆 I genuinely did not expect such a positive reception! I’m so grateful to you guys for the kind words! (つ╥﹏╥)つ 💕

NZ-666 KSHATRIYA

It’s Kshatriya! A little art study of this big ol’ mobile suit while I cannae sleep. It was so much fun working on this one. I learned a lot from painting this and my last Kshatriya painting. Thinking about light and how much I want to either reduce the concentration of watercolour paint, or completely omit paint altogether, to depict light intensity has been so useful for future projects too! ^^/

I continue my journey to paint all the suits! ALL OF THEMMMMM! >:D

Since I was a kid I always loved looking at mechs on tv, then vehicles in real life! I like to imagine that cars and trains and planes are these massive sentient metal monsters that come to life with electricity, with the ability to crush anything in their paths! I love looking at blueprints and ways things are built. I’m not actually good at building things myself but I’ve always been fascinated with geometry and shapes! Geometry has always been my favourite branch of mathematics. I still remember the Thursday when we learned about the Pythagorean theorem, the Law of Sines and the Law of Cosines, and the Monday we learned about bisecting angles at school! Geometry really made the rest of maths so much more fun for me ^^”
But that’s what it is!
These mechs, these mobile suits, they’re kind of like giant mosaics of shapes! The angles are so much fun to draw and match together! AND CIRCLES O HOW I LOVE U!
In my larger paintings I usually like to hide silly numbers in each one! Eg, the angle of one thing might have an association with the angle of another thing… it’s all really silly and truly madly deeply difficult to even make heads or tails of it but it’s so fun to embed into each one! ^___^✨
