During his playing career, we worked together on several Nike-spots @wesleysneijder . Now, we’ve had a lovely reunion, where we went back to Wesley’s childhood in Ondiep Utrecht, recreated an identical boy’s bedroom, cast an identical family and a lookalike 6 years old Wes, and brought the logo and shirt of the famous DOS football club back to life. One photograph a day. No rush. Just observing. The fictional story of this Japanese photographer, who exists only in my mind, is already a few years old, but fits the spirit of our times more than ever.The fleeting nature of life overwhelms us, yet we rarely take the time to truly reflect. This exercise in storytelling formed the basis of my feature-length film ‘The Crisis and Us’, reflecting on the 2008 financial crisis. I set off with my camera, looked around and started filming whenever I thought I saw something interesting. It was only later, after developing and reviewing the shots, that the story came to me. The slightly bizarre story behind the name of boutique cinema FC Hyena was already running as a trailer since December. Now ready to share everywhere. With vicarious embarrassment, here are the extremely aggressive ladies of FC Hyena (formerly known as FC Hylkirk). I went back more than a 100 years in time to discover the future of storytelling. These bizarre, disruptive social flicks have been popping up for some time, but here’s a collection of it. A sound studio that creates idiosyncratic sound needs a distinctive campaign, and with all the tools and engineers in the factory of Holy Prompts, the chimneys of the creative renaissance are smoking and directing was never more fun!
