my first reads of 2026!
i wanted to challenge myself to do some more graphic design this year, as it has been neglected for a while (particularly since i’m focused on my photography HNC) and what’s a more fun way to do it than to design some little graphics to show my reads each month, designed for every quarter?
so here is the first quarter of the year — january through to march
in january i read at least one page every day as a part of @the.storygraph’s january pages challenge, and as a result i was super motivated to read, totalling my book count to 9 already! this is the most i have read in any singular month since i was like 8 haha
in february i slowed down a little, but still clocking in at an impressive 5 books! around this time was when i decided to start focusing on my tbr pile at home rather than the library, so it was nice to tick some books off of my shelves
and then finally, march. march was a lot slower for me as i found i had given myself a lot less time to read with being abroad and having quite tight deadlines (and had yet to use BorrowBox to its full capacity), but i still managed to read 3 books! one of my favourite books this year was read in this month, too, How To Say Babylon by Safiya Sinclair.
it was really fun to document the books i had read each month in this format, and i hope it translates to you guys too. very excited to challenge myself for the next quarter (even if i am posting this just under halfway through it 😭)

the standalone part two of my project “growing pains”.
this project mixes my childhood photos and objects with my teenage-adulthood items (ranging from medical to governmental) in an exploration of growing up and transitioning to another gender in the UK.
the first part of this project is made of 4 photos taken on 35mm film using a canon eos 3000; i have projected 4 different childhood photographs over a range of objects including my old binders, bouquets of flowers, medical information sheets for sustanon 250 and desogestrel, and a mask containing statistics about the mistreatment of transgender people in the UK combined with my own gender clinic, deed poll, and pharmacy papers.
the second part of the project is a standalone photograph taken with a large format camera, wherein i have positioned a wide variety of objects to surround my “Baby’s 1sts” book that my parents filled out within a year of my birth. I included my gender clinic referral confirmation, papers explaining a shortage in supply of testosterone, my passport, bouquets of flowers, and the needles, syringes, and ampoule of sustanon 250 that i injected every 3 weeks at the time.
this project was developed as a response to my Photography HNC unit of “Constructed Worlds”.

this set up of using a black background and specific lighting was an idea my teacher suggested to me, and i’m so glad he did 🙏
i was a little concerned the black on black would mean we would lose detail, ans lighting is something i need to work on being more creative with, but seeing how using a seemingly flawed method and making a few tweaks can make a photograph so much more dynamic, crisp and editorial-like is amazing to me ,, feels like magic sometimes haha
these are the last set of shots i have lined up to post from the photoshoot with lucy (although they arent the only ones i loved from this section, it’s mostly an instagram cropping issue, but maybe i’ll post some more in the future 😚)
i will be getting ideas ready for issue 2 of my zine — which i can announce is called Penumbrae — soon, so if you are interested in getting involved then please let me know by DM or email (homesicknote@gmail.com); i might not get around to sorting out a date immediately, but i will contact you in the future once i have time to use the studio again
thank you again to lucy for being an amazing model and making it such a fun time in the studio

just had an update that my zines have finished printing and are officially on their way to me! more updates to come very, very soon

more photos with lucy 🤍
i really enjoyed the process of editing these white background photos; cleaning up felt very therapeutic, and the adjustment sliders worked in my favour a lot of the time which meant i could focus on finer details without worrying about the basics
instagram cropping really hates the sizes i made these photos, so some of them lose the full portrait i designed it to be - but fear not (amazing segue) you can see (most) of these in their intended crops in my zine coming soon!

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
Keep track of Instagram updates discreetly while protecting your privacy and staying anonymous.
View profiles and photos anonymously with ease using the Private Profile Viewer.
This free tool allows you to view Instagram Stories anonymously, ensuring your activity remains hidden from the story uploader.
Anonstories lets users view Instagram stories without alerting the creator.
Works seamlessly on iOS, Android, Windows, macOS, and modern browsers like Chrome and Safari.
Prioritizes secure, anonymous browsing without requiring login credentials.
Users can view public stories by simply entering a username—no account needed.
Downloads photos (JPEG) and videos (MP4) with ease.
The service is free to use.
Content from private accounts can only be accessed by followers.
Files are for personal or educational use only and must comply with copyright rules.
