I've had this powdered metallic pigment for years I think Kev ( @bpc_surfboards ) gave it to me. It really doesn't work well for anything honestly. I thought the pearls would work but they don't really show up. Epoxy hot coats are just too thin for this styleThe silver and blue are kinda cool but just not as cool as a regular pigment so pretty pointless. Recently I got a little fired up again because I saw a clip or story on here and I believe it was from @lightsoutglassing (I don't know them but I really like a bunch of stuff they put up) anyways they had some hot coats firing off that looked like this stuff. So I gave it another go on a board for a good friend. Pretty stoked on how this one came out. Another 3 layer burrito of a hot coat; clear, gold,then copper...over raw cork. Coupla wasted brushes and a messy sanding room. It'll probably be one of one but I'm pumped on it. Up close it works, from far away it looks like leather. Either way not regular and that flips the skirt. ✌️

Og puddle jumper in #doubledart this one's custom for Jonah Hill. I'm not going to glaze the guy even though I love every movie he's done from Super bad to money ball... And no, a big movie star didn't reach out to me for a custom surfboard. It's a custom through @catalystshopdotcom I'll never meet or speak to him, he will probably never see this or ever know who built the board. But it's a very cool opportunity, I'm super stoked to get the work. I'll post it here to remember. AND this board's going to force me to break my golden rule #1 and share an opinion publicly. I don't think I've done that on IG and I'm certain it's a terrible idea but I'm going to. I've noticed that any time pics come up of a famous person learning to surf the haters in the comments just think it's their time to shine. In my opinion adult learners are some of the best parts of modern surfing. All the clips of the full rotes are neat. But someone who may not have grown upas geographically blessed as those of us who grew up surfing... Finally catching on to what we already knew... That surfing is the best. It just doesn't get any better than that. Seriously, get you an adult learner in your crew! Anyways, done with that. Thank you for the work, and for your work. I love to laugh at you.
