It’s time for the next edition of our monthly Climate Content Showcase 🎥🌍✨
This time, we’re sharing an international example of great climate storytelling - Humberto & The Bigger Picture (Gelukkig Hebben We De Foto’s Nog), produced by ITV Studios Netherlands for RTL 4 and Videoland.
Presented by Humberto Tan, this travel and infotainment series goes beyond the traditional travelogue. Each episode explores the connection between natural beauty, local culture, and the real impacts of climate change.
Using photography as a storytelling tool, Humberto and his guests document both the stunning scenery and the visible effects of climate change on the ground. These images, alongside deeper conversations with local communities, form the heart of the programme and are later brought together in a companion book, creating a permanent record and educational resource
Each episode focuses on a theme that feels relevant and relatable to Dutch audiences, including:
· Coffee production in Ethiopia
· Melting snow in the Alps
· Palm oil in Indonesia
· Drought in Zambia
· Rising water levels in the Netherlands
Climate content is the foundation of the series. Destinations were chosen based on the visibility and stories that can be found through the first-hand experiences of locals. The photography-led approach keeps the series engaging and accessible, while grounding complex climate issues in human, personal narratives.

It received extensive press coverage across TV, radio and print, alongside strong social media engagement from the broadcaster, production company and host.
