This year marks 35 years as a Casting Director. Whhhaaaat?
My story began in 1991. Richard Picton, a photographer I bartended for in the Magic Building, suggested I’d be great at casting. I was tasked with finding 35 people to shoot in a hockey rink for a Molson Canadian poster.
Months later, someone from the ad agency called, inquiring about using some of the photography talent for motion. They wanted to know if I was the agent or the casting director.
“What’s the difference?” I asked.
“An agent makes a commission, and casting gets paid off the top,” was the reply.
“Well, I’m the casting director, of course.”
I’ve cast everything from a bed-wetting spray commercial to winning my first Cannes Lions for Egale in 2025.
January 2026 marks 8,929 career jobs, from a simple hand demo to finding “Gary,” the face of Canadian Tire, and negotiating an eight-commercial deal with an agent who initially would not submit him for consideration.

Seeking Various Individuals living with IDD (Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities) for a Safe Relationship and Your Rights Public Service Announcement in Toronto!
Looking for those who are living with IDD, someone with a physical disability living with IDD or someone who is a member of 2SLGBTQIA+ living with IDD. The series consists of 13 short scenario-based videos designed to support adults with IDD, in understanding healthy and unhealthy relationship dynamics across topics: including consent, communication, grooming, abuse, sexual health, and online safety. Seeking the following individuals living with IDD: 1. The role of ‘Ziggy’, talent living with IDD. Age 30 to 45. Open Gender, age: 30-45.
2. The role of ‘Bri’, talent with a Physical Disability Living with IDD. Age: 30-45. We are seeking a performer with a physical or mobility disability for this role.
Female.
3. The role of ‘Sarah’ - 2SLGBTQIA+ role Living with IDD. Age: 25-40. Female.
This role will be part of a same sex couple with the Madison Character. Must be Comfortable in a 2SLGBTQIA+ role.
4. The role of ‘Madison’ 2SLGBTQIA+ role Living with IDD. Age 25-40. Female.
This role will be part of a same sex couple with the Sarah Character.

This film is being used once at the Canadian opening ceremonies and seen worldwide. We are celebrating Canadian culture and identity. We are looking for a diverse cast to showcase Canadians.
Looking for the following roles:
1. BMX Riders. Ages 18+. Urban badass. Must be very experienced. Any gender.
2. Individuals who look cool, edgy, have tattoos and/or piercings. Indy vibes. (E.g like kensington market cafe workers..etc) Any gender.
3. Soccer kids. Ages 8 to 12. Experienced.
4. Indigenous Individuals. Ages 18+.

4. Mounties or Rangers Ages 40-60. Ideally a real Park ranger, if not we will wardrobe as such. Fit healthy Proud.
5. Neighborhood Fans. Ages 40–60. Apply with your friends or family. We really want to capture the many ethnic neighborhoods all coming together for Canada and sharing their proud culture.
