And of course, one of the few people who trickled out of the diner soon after midnight, was avant-garde filmmaker Damon Packard @spacedisco4 . It was great to commemorate the occasion with a fellow film freak.
From as far back as I can remember, my attitude toward cinema was- the weirder the better. Plot is overrated… but David Lynch was the first filmmaker to test the limits of that philosophy on me. His movies didn’t quite click with me until I got to Rutgers and took a full semester course on his work with experimental filmmaker @agnigrin … Al’s analyses on Lynch’s films changed everything for me, so, I post this to say thank you to both Lynch, and to Al Nigrin.
