Happy Mother’s Day! I got blessed with the best.
Moms have a special way of loving and teaching that only comes from motherhood. Graciously loving no matter what. Making life more beautiful, fun, and easy. Knowing my mom’s got my back is a huge force that keeps me going. How beautiful. I truly think mothers are the most influential and powerful people who walk the earth.
There’s so many stories I could share but this one seems fitting today.Sometime back in that day, I signed up for football. Yes me signing up for football at a small privet school. At the time I went to a privet school but later finished high school at a local public school. But that’s beside the point. Anyways— I felt the pressure as a guy to sign up for football because that’s just what you did. Well, I didn’t have to ever say it, but I was actually a little intimidated to be on the team 😅. And my mom knew it. It didn’t have to be said. She just knew that it made me uncomfortable. She showed up to every single practice and pulled her camping chair out of the back of the minivan and would watch every practice. She didn’t have to do that but she did anyways. She always wanted to protect me and still does to this day. She does that. I don’t have to say anything she just knows. And as worried or intimidated or whatever I felt during that year of football, I could always look over and see my mom and know everything was going to be OK. What a blessing moms are to us!

Today’s been a fun day in my life. Not for any reason in particular. Just for the simple reason of remembering I get to do what I love each day for “work”. Even though it does not feel like work for me. What a privilege!
Here’s a few things I know.
He’s faithful all the time. — even on days that I am not.
His plan over mine. — this life of mine I couldn’t plan it , couldn’t even dream it. It’s so much better than anything I could have imagined. So how much better is heaven going to be?
I have grown the most in the mist of overwhelmingness and hard times. The perseverance of going through some tough moments in life and realizing it’s not my plan but His, is what has formed my faith.
I think God’s plan for me is not to gratify me or my wants but it’s to let me struggle some in this daily walk with Him so I lean on Him exclusively. The hard times only are used to help make me more like Him. Of course it’s impossible to be perfect like Jesus but it is possible to become more holy like Him.
So when I’m overwhelmed, looking at a mountain of worry, I remember that I have grown most in the trials of life. When I stick with His plan and not mine -no matter how wild the ride is— it’s always been the very best outcome. So bring on the mountains!
James 1:2-4
