Labour needs to engage the whole party on an analysis & discussion of what has happened, why & what’s needed to turn this around. The leadership question will inevitably be on the agenda & there should be no precipitous coups but if the party decides there needs to be a leadership change then it must be an orderly democratic change with no blocks on candidates

I have heard the slogan “I want my country back” a lot in recent weeks. Well, I want our country back too. Here’s my list of what I want back.

Yesterday in London was a wake up call. Progressives in all our political parties,trade unions, religious bodies & civil society groups need urgently to start talking together about the campaign needed to tackle the rise of the far right.

There must now be a democratic contest for Labour Deputy Leader.

"We’ve got to stop dancing to Nigel Farage's tune…we need a rational dialogue."

This was my view about how we overcome the divisions that some are creating in our society over the issue of asylum seekers. It’s partly about politicians showing proper leadership that unites our community & does not divide it.

In Parliament, I am going to vote against any cuts to disability benefits. No Labour government should be imposing benefit cuts forcing many more disabled people into poverty.
