A newspaper cartoonist, after seeing #MarcelDuchamp’s “Nude Descending a Staircase” at the #ArmoryShow drew this, suggesting it was inspired by the subway rush hour and calling it “Rude Descending a Staircase.”

@UPS lost these priceless paintings by my father, PhilipTrussell.

While visiting him in December, he gifted me these five beautiful pieces. I couldn’t easily take them on the flight from Austin back to Chicago, so I went to the local UPS store and had them shipped, along with a sixth painting that my son did under his grandpa’s tutelage.

The box never arrived. The tracking info said it was “delayed” but when I contacted UPS they said the box was probably lost 😞 Sure enough, 4 months later, the box has never arrived.

Luckily I had taken a picture of them all together (last slide). Sadly, I hadn’t taken individual pictures of them, so these aren’t the highest resolution, and more sadly, I never took a picture of the cool painting my son made.

So beware, even big shipping companies like UPS can lose important things. They also gave me a HUGE, hassle getting back the $300+ that it cost to ship the box, and the insurance coverage the shipment came with. It took me more than two months and many, many emails (their insurance division doesn’t have a working support phone number!) to get any restitution from them.

And she was right. It turns out, the rainbow ends at @BakeryMastering, and that @Eric.TheBaker, @JimiJaymes, @PHDutton, and @Weel_o, really can help the dreams that we dare to dream come true. This one started when a conversation between @DaliColorado and @UliBella turned despair into an idea for action, and it continued when people like @MichaelLizarraga, @LaloAlcaraz1, @JimColemannyc, @AdventurousAshley and many others stepped in to help make the dream a reality. This is a dream of America made great by the diversity of its people. People who’ve immigrated here from all over the world to make us culturally and economically strong. This is a dream of artists supporting that vision in the face of divisiveness used to gain power. We won’t let this destruction happen. We believe in love over fear. We stand #ContraICE.
