The summit of Mont Blanc, reached a few days ago by @micrograsso in team with Giacomo Mauro and Luca Ducoli, is a true mountaineering masterpiece.

The new line, which rises steeply along the traditional red shield of Divine Providence – considered one of the most difficult routes in the Alps – continues along the gentle curve of the Freney Glacier, rather than the Peutery Ridge, which climbing teams usually choose for their summit attempt.

A project dreamed of for years and delivered in three days of riding, covering a total of 1,900 metres with a mandatory difficulty of 7a. A combination requiring vision, endurance and specific agility. A watershed moment in the ascent of the roof of Europe.

Mirco, however, sees exploration as the real driving force: “I never thought of this route for the sake of glory, but rather as a challenging test ahead of an upcoming expedition. I’ve always wondered why no one had followed this very natural continuation—at least to me—and finally we put together a super team with Jack and Luck.
Lead climbing Divine Providence was thrilling. The Freney was then harder than expected due to the ice conditions, which changed practically with every pitch.
I hope to experience even better adventures this season, though it won’t be easy”.

A true friend, with whom to share a great dream.
For us, Guy Blanc was the ideal companion in the mountains: few words, many deeds, a mark that remains after he has passed and inspires those who follow.

In 1986, Guy was one of the founders of the Pierra Menta. Not just a race, but the legacy of authentic ski mountaineering, which is perhaps disappearing today.
Through hard work, he managed to give shape to what could only be imagined. The result is the most beautiful and technical ski mountaineering event in the world, held in a small village in the Beaufortain.

Once the grief has subsided, what Guy shaped for the community will become even more evident.
It is up to all of us to uphold his legacy.
Thank you, Guy. Rest in peace.
