It wouldn't be a post if I didn't write a novel lengthed caption so here we go:

Sometimes I don't know how to grasp how blessed I am to be able to wake up everyday and share my passion with the world. But I still have my days.

I've been in this funk of wondering when my hair art is going to "take off". It feels like I'm in this limbo of recognition and I'm waiting to get into rooms where I'm actively working on sets and huge projects. There are so many people I want to create hairstyles for, so many spaces I want my art to live in, and at times I feel like people see the art but do they want it? And do they want it at the level that I know it can exist at?

Patience is a practice but you can only wait on people to truly get what your trying to do for so long. Talking with Tyler helped me feel reaffirmed about what I've been starting to realize. Sometimes you have to tell, then show people who you are. Deeper than the final look but also the process to getting there because those are the moments that build who you are and how you show up in this world.

So stop waiting for permission, just go for it and create anyway. Everything else will fall into place as long as you keep the spark alive✨

Met Gala Theme "Fashion Is Art"

I love that I didn't have to change a single thing about myself when getting ready because my hair artistry is it's own unique interpretation of the theme. I really felt close to the theme because hair IS art and it deserves so much more credit in the fashion space. My hair is my fashion statement everywhere I go, so this day wasn't so much different. I will say, it's the biggest style I've worn to date and that uber ride felt like an in real life game of Tetris 😭

Even though the Met Gala offical page posted me on Twitter thinking I was going to the Met, I actually got invited to the Met Gala Watch Party by Instagram at The Mark Hotel. I'm grateful to have been in that space to showcase my hair art and regardless of where I'm invited to, I'm still going to show up as me and keep sharing the art🤍 but it is a flex that even they thought I was on my way to the Met, maybe next year?

I love sharing my world of hair artistry with people because it’s never just about the final look, it’s about the experience of discovery. Watching someone see themselves differently, sometimes for the first time, is what moves me the most🥹

My hope is that these styles don’t just take up space, but create it. Create space for discovery, for confidence, for a new layer of understanding who you are. Each piece is an invitation to step into another version of yourself, and I love witnessing what that unlocks in people🤍

To my sister❤️ I don’t think I have the words, but I’m going to try. Watching you pour yourself into your art, into your truth, into every single thing you create has been one of the greatest honors of my life. You have always been more than my sister. You’ve been my front-row seat to what it looks like when someone chooses themselves, chases their vision, and refuses to shrink.
On this day, getting to walk into that premiere beside you, I felt it in my whole chest. This wasn’t just a movie. It was proof. Proof of everything you’ve worked for, everything you’ve become, and everything still ahead of you.
The experiences your journey has opened up for us… they’ve given me a version of you I get to know more deeply every single day. And I wouldn’t trade that closeness for anything in this world.

I went to Paris for the first time and took a chance on showcasing my hair artistry 🥐 One of my dreams is to lead a hair team for a show on the calendar and to even attend shows so that I can really immerse myself and what I do as I navigate the fashion industry. It was the first time I truly invested in betting on myself this big and I'm so grateful for everyone I met overseas. I will be back and I can't wait to really let the Europeans know what's up 🥹🤞🏽✨ Also huge thank you to @nokyap for styling me to really match what I had going on for my hair🫶🏽

If you have a dream and are nervous about taking that step and investing in yourself, I hope you are encouraged to go for it. A huge part of life is about taking risks and living out experiences so that we can progress. I'm tired of being comfortable and thinking it's my environment. I'm learning that if I want change and if I want to evolve, I have to go and make it happen

Biggest full circle was walking the @pipencolorena show. @lorenapipenco and I were on the @feliciathegoat and @instagram video together. We crossed paths again at Art Basel Miami at the @applemusic event and stayed in touch. I absolutely love that I've gotten to connect and merge creatively with some of the other creators I met that day and for me to close out my crazy week walking her show was an absolute dream🩷 She's such a talented and sweet individual 🤍🤍🤍
