[ENG] Continuing the NebulaRig breakdown series,
I’d like to show the next module — Limb (arms/legs).

The core idea behind this module was simple:
the limb should always be able to switch cleanly between IK and FK.

Key features:

— Seamless IK / FK switch
Guaranteed switching at any moment without changing the pose

— IK Stretch
Controlled limb stretching

— Soft IK
Anti-pop implemented through segment length adjustment,
without shifting the IK handle
→ stable behavior and safe switching to FK

— Pole Vector Follow / Snap
Additional control over elbow / knee behavior
(including the ability to “lock” the joint in place)

— Bendy + No Corner
Smooth deformation without sharp angles in the joint

— Offset Controls (Translate / Scale)
Additional layer of control over shape and segment length
(Scale on X acts as segment length)

— Save Volume
Volume preservation based on current segment length

Like the rest of the system, the logic is built using Bifrost,
keeping the scene clean and the system scalable.

конечность должна всегда корректно переключаться между IK и FK.

(Scale по X работает как длина сегмента)

— Save Volume
Сохранение объема в зависимости от текущей длины сегмента

что позволяет держать сцену чистой, а систему — масштабируемой.

[ENG] For over a year, I have been developing NebulaRig, a modular Bifrost-based auto-rig system.

The main goal of the project is to create a highly performant and flexible rig capable of scaling across different production needs — from film to real-time pipelines.

The system is built on a Bifrost computational architecture, providing procedural logic, stable evaluation, and clean module separation.

NebulaRig consists of independent modules connected through a Guide Point (GP) system.
This approach allows modules to be connected, reorganized, and expanded without breaking the overall hierarchy.

Key principles:

• Bifrost-based computational core
• Modular architecture
• Non-destructive assembly
• Performance optimization

The presented Spine module includes:
• Stretch / Compression system
• Volume / Volume Center control
• Adaptive volume redistribution
• Procedural deformation logic

[RUS] Более года я разрабатываю NebulaRig — модульную систему авторига, построенную на базе Bifrost.

Основная цель проекта — создать максимально производительный и гибкий риг, способный масштабироваться под разные задачи: от кино до real-time пайплайна.

В основе системы лежит вычислительная архитектура Bifrost, обеспечивающая процедурную логику, стабильность расчётов и чистое разделение компонентов.

NebulaRig состоит из независимых модулей, соединённых через систему Guide Points (GP).
Такой подход позволяет подключать, перестраивать и расширять структуру без разрушения общей иерархии.

Ключевые принципы:

• Bifrost-based вычислительное ядро
• Модульная архитектура
• Неразрушаемая сборка
• Оптимизация под производительность

В представленном модуле Spine реализованы:
• Stretch / Compression система
• Контроль Volume / Volume Center
