My son just hit his 8 month mark, serving in Tonga, all of which was spent in Vava’u. He was recently assigned to serve in Kanokupolu and took the long boat ride to mainland Tonga.

He was picked up by his first companion and trainer, Elder Pasi from Colorado Springs, who is now assistant to the president. He was also greeted by his MTC companion, Elder Polata from California.

My son is having a windfall experience in Tonga! He’s learning the language and culture, he loves the people and the gospel.

In the airline industry, most of you know having weekends off is a luxury reserved for 30+ year employees. 25+ years may get you a partial weekend if you want to work mornings.

I have been afforded this blessing because of my awesome doubles partner Michael Wolfgramm! He has worked my weekends so that I can go to school and be home with my family on the weekends.

I bring this up because, Saturday mornings, I love to make French toast for my family, really early before anyone wakes up.

A few weeks ago I must've been slacking. My daughter Latai woke up to nothing. She asks “Is today Saturday?” to which I reply, Yes it is! Then she asks, “So where are the French toasts?!” 🤷🏾‍♀️

Wow! I'll get right to it, my bad lol. Malo Mike for letting me be great for my kids. Thank Lupe for letting double with me all these years 🙏🏽.

#Funfact it takes 1.5 loaves of bread to feed breakfast for this family 😳

A few days ago my siblings and I with our dad, held a meeting to plan my moms birthday celebration. We threw out the typical ideas, a dance Friday night, a park day potluck for the grandkids.

My mother wanted to have a live wake! She said she didn’t want to be dead before hearing all of these beautiful stories of her from loved ones. She wanted to sit front and center to receive her flowers!

What a beautiful night it was! Thank you to everyone who made her birthday party so special. She was on cloud 9 all evening, seeing loved ones from near and far share their words to her directly.

I feel like everyone should have a celebration like this at least once in their lifetime, while they’re alive.

We apologize to anyone who didn’t know in time. Initially, we wanted to keep it small, but opened it up that evening, to everyone knowing how loved our mother is.

Also, it was nice for everyone see my big bro own the mic! He is hilarious and you got a glimpse of his personality last night, and know why us siblings love and respect him and understand our roles in the family.

On her own, she figured out how to make this vest for her sister, the vibrant Salome Lesieli! Tila is finishing a matching skirt.
