Just the usual LCT things.

This RPD shows the typical issues you’ll find in all RPDs from LCT and many of their other offerings.
Superb bodywork but the quality control of a small chimp with the runs trying to mark its territory.

Wobbly gears
A missing section of tappet support rail
Stupid tight shimming
Oversized gear axles rammed in the bearings
Casting errors seemingly designed to deter techs from opening anything up and seeing the mess by ripping their fingers apart…

Getting to grips with the lathe.

Internally dampened recoil system with secondary weight (which can be swapped out for tungsten should more Dakka be required) to go in the TM HK417 NGRS platform.

Still need to practice some operations (like single-point thread cutting) before I can put these into production.

We’ll see how well the brass rod holds up in this one, easy to swap it for steel should the need arise.

Second pic shows a quick repair to the buffer tube using custom threaded brass inserts to replace the damaged screw posts.

In the meantime, feast your eyes on the wonderful design quality from VFC.

This Mk48 AEG is almost brand new and the feeding motor has completely imploded with the commutator falling to pieces 👌

Thankfully replacement motors are pretty cheap and readily available, we’ll just need to see how we can minimise this issue going forward.

At least the primary gearbox is fairly solid 🤷‍♂️
